The man took nearly a decade of his life to write about a boat trip of course he was never going to finish it. It should be clear that he had no idea how it would end and was making it up as he went along. Bezerk exists as an excuse to showcase his artwork and provide a setting for his characters but as a narrative it's pretty shitty
