QUARITCH IS BACK BABY!

it's shit

I wonder how he feels to be in the body of the species/people he tried to effectively exterminate. Would he feel mad that he has to live in the skin of what he sees as animals? Or would he simply view his avatar body as a piece of hardware and not have many strong feeling toward it?

he never tried to kill any of them, the only thing he ever did was ask them to give up a tree

Probably the latter. The Avatars are feats of human ingenuity. Further proof that even when nature makes something stronger that humans, human can just harness it for themselves

Ok, he's my favourite, but he died.

Why Cameron needed to bring back his and Sigourney Weaver characters? Honestly he could have just pulled out some new bad guy and that's it

Not only that but he’s apparently gonna be in all 4 of them? Why even mention that

Wait there's a human with them? The hybrid son of Jake and Neytiri?

Quarritch bring back is a surprise and I'm looking forward to see how Cameron explains it, but Sigourney Weaver's character surviving isn't a surprise. It's in the first movie. If you missed it you need to look up from your phone and actually pay attention to the movie.
They have two navi kids (hybrid between actual navi and the mutant freaks known as avatars), and one adopted human kid that was left behind when his parents went back to earth

I remember reading Quaritch would be back in Avatar 2 like in... 2012 or so, whenever people started talking about it for the first time. But I always thought it would be because it would be a prequel or he would apprear in flash-backs or something like that.

Explain then

I don't know why you'd rather I explain than James Cameron explain in movie form, but sure. She gets uploaded into Eywa at the end. She's not dead, her body is.

Yes, and mind transfer failed. Her mind is lost.

No. She was trying to upload her mind into her avatar, and that failed. Instead her mind ended up with Eywa. Moa't explains that for this transfer to work, she has to pass through Eywa first. My guess is when Grace was inside Eywa she went "this is the greatest repository of knowledge ever assembled, I'm not leaving" and then everyone interpreted that as her being to weak to go into the avatar body.
Regardless, she does end up staying with Eywa. Later in the movie when they commune with Eywa through the tree of souls, they can feel Grace's presence.
As I said earlier, you should try looking up from your phone when you're watching a movie.

>My guess is when Grace was inside Eywa she went "this is the greatest repository of knowledge ever assembled, I'm not leaving" and then everyone interpreted that as her being to weak to go into the avatar body.
lol, that would make sense.

This is going to fucking rock.

This.

This is precisely my take. I believe Grace is going to become an avatar in a way more reminiscent if the term's original meaning, complete with religious connotations.

>nature makes something stronger that humans
It's the year 2022 of our lord and niggas still aren't wise to the navi bioengineered return to monke
Now that Eywa is pissed I believe we'll see her use powers we can't even imagine right now. It's going to be kino

I can't fucking wait.

Friendly reminder the films are an allegory for the struggles trans people face.

Jake was inhibiting by being a disabled human, and felt stuck and confined in his toxic work. Becoming a Na'vi was like a guy finally escaping the clutches of his toxic environment and being able to finally transitions.

The main bad guy is an allegory for toxic closeted trans and LGBT people, he hates Na'vi/gay/trans people at first, but eventually becomes the woman he was meant to be i.e a Na'vi.

Rachel Dolezal vindicated, trans racial deniers on suicide watch

It’s nice than Cameron is funding his sea hobby with Hollywood bucks but Avatar was shit and I don’t see why this would be different.

WHY IS THE TRAILER SO SHIT?
but im still going to see it

this basically is the rachel dolezal movie

>he never tried to kill any of them, the only thing he ever did was ask them to give up a tree
That's a big deal in some cultures.

I love all his movies except Avatar.
It's a crime he's wasting his talent on Avatar sequels

>Bugwoman appreciator does not appreciate kino
Color me surprised

>the only thing he ever did was ask them to give up a tree
just your typical immigrant thing

Lotta people getting off the rails with their theories but it's most likely going to be a super simple archetypal story again, which is completely fine. I can't wait to see the trailer properly, I hope the underwater shit is as cool as it sounds.

Attached: jim.jpg (1280x1900, 399.06K)

oh my heckin disney!!!!!!! save the blue princess, save the blue cat world!!!

Fun fact: in the very far left side of that photo, in the shadows in the back, that's Jeffrey Epstein

That's Jim's strength. He knows to keep the characters relatable, and the story simple. That way you have a powerful anchor into the movie, and you're not thrown off by the more eccentric world building. That's why I believe he's going to go for the more out there elements, Quarritch is a brain scan in an Avatar brain, Grace is a disembodied ghost in the planetary brain that is Eywa, etc. He can afford to do the strange shit, because he keeps everything else relatable

What’s he doing there? Why is jimmy filming the t1000 hand facing the ground?

That's the T-800 arm you fucking phony

wait wouldnt these new avatar bpdies be bigger with muscle due to earths gravity? or did they le grow them in a pod on the way to pandora again. fucking lazy writing asf

When exactly do you think an Avatar body has ever stepped foot on Earth?
>it's another "fag doesn't listen to exposition during the movie, thinks he uncovered a plot hole" episode

dolezalsisters....... we won....

they grow them on the way there so why not train in them on earths gravity? fucking disney fag

Yes. They grow them on the way. Meaning they are not yet grown until after they have left.

So what is this supposed to be about? We see human infrastructure and Na'vi with guns; did they just fucking forgive and forget and make a deal with humans? Is this some alternate universe?

These are sky people, not Na'vi with the guns.

>Lotta people getting off the rails with their theories but it's most likely going to be a super simple archetypal story again
Why would you think that - just because Avatar was? You hook audiences in with an archetypal story, then you add depth. See e.g. Star Wars

You now realize that Disney is manipulating you into wanting the trailer in order to build hype

Cool, my point still stands though

How many years after the first is this, because there are human children that look 10 years or older, but there was no children at the base. So have the humans that remained been having children together? Makes no sense.

>there was no children at the base
We met like ten human characters in the first movie. Do you also believe there are only ten people living on Pandora? Just because we haven't seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Your point being that the guys with bows and arrows should have been able to mount an effective planetary defense and prevent the guys with spaceships, helicopters and guns from just landing on the next continent over and going from there?

The only ships that go to and from Pandora is solely for mining, which means scientists/engineers etc and the security to protect them. There are zero children, it's not a tourist destination idiot.

The ISV takes almost 7 years for a one-way trip from Pandora to Earth, so I would assume at the very least around 14 years.

You don't get Quaritch, he would do the same on Earth. He is an abusive figure that could care less about people in general, he just does what he is told. Quaritch with a navi body will be something interesting to see because we will finally see what the fuck he really wants.

Your point being that the guys with bows and arrows should have been able to mount an effective planetary defense and prevent the guys with spaceships, helicopters and guns from just landing on the next continent over and going from there?
No, my point is that there seems to be no conflict between the humans and the natives. I don't get the impression that this is the humans giving things a second shot.

Yeah, and then a scientist and an engineer fucked and had a baby. Is that so hard to believe? The kid was born on Pandora, and the cryo pods in the ship were never designed to accommodate children, since as you so eloquently put it there would be no reason to bring children there. That explains why the parents had to leave the baby behind when they left, explaining why Jake and Neitiri would have to take it in.

>there seems to be no conflict between the humans and the natives.
In the trailer we see Quarritch and Wainfleet stalking around the jungle with guns drawn. We see Jake's kids threatening someone with a bow. We see Jake's adopted kid being shot at with guns. We also see three Dragon Assault ships parked on the tarmac when during the events of the first movie there was only one on Pandora.
But yeah besides that, no sign of conflict.

>The kid was born on Pandora
Ans somehow he can breathe the poisonous air just like that...
Also he will never be able to hairfuck the horses and the birds, poor guy is forever pedestrian.

>Ans somehow he can breathe the poisonous air just like that...

The teaser literally shows us the kid wearing a breathing mask at all times.
What is it with Avatar haters asking the dumbest questions and nitpicking the dumbest things? Like every thread there's a handful of retards asking such idiotic questions.

>Ans somehow he can breathe the poisonous air just like that...
Where did you get that impression? I'm genuinely wondering. Please point to a single picture of the kid not wearing a breather mask

>Also he will never be able to hairfuck the horses and the birds, poor guy is forever pedestrian
I'm betting this'll be a major theme in the movies and I can't wait to see how that plays out. Imagine watching tour siblings swim with the giant flying dolphins and you're stuck sweating in a breather mask forever. Would fuck you up.

Yeah honestly it would be fucking hell for the kid

The only question is will it kill at box office like the first one or has he left it too long

Inb4 he will be a traitor and side with the humans because he jelly he can't connect with the world (which is understandable. Would fuck anyone up)

Quaritch will kidnap him and/or put him against the na'vi and/or use him as a bait to get Jake.

Yeah. Hate for his parents who left him behind, hate for his adoptive dad who's the reason he can't live inside comfy pressurized environments anymore, let alone hope to see earth one day. Hate for the Na'vi who can enjoy everything he can't.
I'm really looking forward to seeing how that character develops. Even the kids at Hadley's Hope had it better.

Fug the trailer is so low quality I didn't notice the mask, my bad.

where's the avatar poster, his wish is finally true

That didn't stop you from assuming nobody in the film's production team, at any time during the last ten years, ever thought of that? user have some humility for the love of god.

>hate for his adoptive dad who's the reason he can't live inside comfy pressurized environments anymore
Other humans also stayed in Pandora so it's likely they will be able to still keep the buildings in Hell's Gate pressurised/sealed and working, so it wouldn't be a life of wearing the mask 24/7... at least until the rest of humanity comes back to kick them out from there. I guess.

They could have opted for some drug from the Pandora flora making him able to breathe, it's not that far fetched.

IT'S OUR TIME AVACHADS

Good point. Looking forward to finding out what happened to Norman and Dr Patel. They must be living somewhere. Though in every piece of footage we've seen, Spider is living with the Na'vi, as a Na'vi. Maybe it was his decision. Fuck them pressure bulkheads, I want to see the world I was born on.

And not just that, they likely don't grow anymore avatar bodies. They where incredibly expensive to made and custom jobs essentially. The Na'vi tribes wouldn't care of those, and likely returned to infighting afterwards. Maybe they sacked the base for weapons and ammo.
The RDA and their associates can return with far more than what was deployed in the first film, and they could just bomb them from orbit as well.

why do you guys want to consume a movie like years before it's even released?
do you guys get real enjoyment out of watching a movie you've seen 50% of for the last 2 years?

If they couldn't figure that out while the RDA's R&D was active on Pandora, I doubt they'll figure it out now that it's just a few people left behind.
>muh bombing from orbit
Opinion disregarded
>And not just that, they likely don't grow anymore avatar bodies
Avatar bodies have never been grown on Pandora, they ship them from Earth. user for the love of god before speculating about the sequel to a movie, watch the movie.

I like making theories about how the events might play out and then watching if I was right or not, idk that's just me.

Same. I understand the fags watching the movie blind, and I respect their resolve, but speculating about the movie is too much fun

Will they be releasing this in 4D?

>Opinion disregarded
Idk but it's not totally unrealistic. Yeah, not fucking nuking them from orbit like some other people were saying, but giving air support from up there would be totally realistic IMO. Maybe that's why they must seek shelter under water.
