It's woke while still being as little woke as possible. E.g, two of the main characters are lesbians, the mother of one character is a musclehead black woman who exclusively fucks twinks, a few other things like that; but it all works because while these characters have woke characteristics it is not their entire character and they're not presented to you as Good Things That You Must Not Criticise. The characters, in essence, are actual characters not woke caricatures like most 'woke' characters are.

It's genuinely refreshing to watch. There's no mary sue's, the main girl with the pink tumblr sidecut that you would assume to be a mary sue is shown to be training to fight at a young age, is given weapons to help level the playing field with larger and stronger opponents, and still loses as many fights as she wins. Even more than that, her headstrong and self-assured attitude is shown to get her in trouble on multiple occasions, and she's outmaneuvered by smarter characters constantly. Best of all, every character is like this. No one is shown to be entirely in the right or entirely in the wrong, but instead acting in their own interests based on their own individual and consistent points of view. It's a miracle this show made it to air at all.
