fuck all of you
g'day sir
is that bad cop, port of call new orleans?
how is that arthouse
Kino.
I like knowing and idc but yea orleans was the best cage role ever. Ifhe could have roles naturally made for him he'd be wy better
but hes got goofy money im sure he needs my advice.
Any good films so far this year?
the fucking original was you nonce. and this was too. only played in arthouse theaters. directed by herzog. fucking zoomer.
yeah doesn't fit arthouse, still a fun performance from cage and its directed by herzog a name mentioned here
yeah he has brought us some great performances
this is where he will be laid to rest
I loved Assa, why didn't you tell me about this film before?
I'm not really sure how this pulpy schlock (still kino though) classifies as arthouse or classic cinema.
Was American Eunuchs ever found? I would like to watch it
/film/ BTFO
Never really "got" breathless
what movie?
lol
What's the deal with Zulawski, did he use to get drunk when writing the dialogues? Love his films but the scripts are mostly nonsense
It just sucks. Nothing to get.
Get your head out of the classify this and that shit, I swear ever fucking board is rampant with this lazy shit.
is the original as good as the nic cage one?
it's too based that's why
original is better
Should I watch In the Heat of the Night or Kind Hearts and Coronets?
I'm really in the mood for some mystery or film noir, but I've seen most of the ones I'm interested in. Now there's the black one and a lot of comedic ones left.
This made me hate m*n
are there subs for Assa 2?
Guilietta Masina was the cutest person ever to be put on film and my heart breaks any time something bad happens to her in a film like this.
There's no relation besides the similar title.
>shoot him again… his soul’s still dancing
Lino
>Assa 2
Didn't even know it existed, wtf
bravo herzog
I want to watch it but I couldn't find subs for it, if you're lucky let me know
kek, that's instantly what I thought when I first saw the op
What is some more essential christkino? I watched this recently and can't stop thinking about it.
Same title. Same producer. Same themes. Both about a corrupt cop trying to do something good. Oh and the fact it was officially marketed as a remake. But yeah, other than literally fucking everything about it, there's no similarity.
what was the deal with the german officer shrieking for one second when the wife talks to him?
I stood upon a cliff
A deep abyss below
Compelled to look I tried
To fight it off, God knows I tried!
They make sense, or rather, make the character make sense. They're the ramblings of a distraught character in a fit of mania, the feelings shift rapidly. It's the oral equivalent of a strobe light being shined in front of you, you'll only understand small parts that bear no resemblance to the previous or the next statement.
Where should one start with Antonioni? Red Desert looks most appealing to me at the moment.
Beyond the Clouds is his best.
timestamp? dont remember
I liked all his films but honestly I often stop caring about the subtitles and just focus on the film.
C'mon user, don't be stupid. L'Avventura, obviously.
Start with L'avventura and watch the rest of the trilogy. Otherwise, start chronologically with Gente del Po.
sometimes Mike Leigh films are great, but most of time they're like a bunch of famous british actors doing bad impersonations of poor people
Start with Red Desert, it's his most straightforward film, it helps orient towards his subtler films.
Yeah, focusing on the rambling is pretty much impossible if you're watching it normally. Need subtitles and going through it frame by frame to build an understanding, which isn't really worth it. It's odd, in the sense, that the text of the scene becomes irrelevant even though it is "very relevant". The stuff being brought up by the characters, very much pertains to the context at hand. An interesting juxtaposition.
recommend me the funniest films of the 21st century please
Death of Stalin
Didn't laugh
Fordov should be Chaotic Evil
>Start with Red Desert, it's his most straightforward film, it helps orient towards his subtler films.
Not everyone is as retarded as you.
>Not everyone is as retarded as you.
I am, though, so for me it's probably a good suggestion.
Can you guys recommend me some recent European films that don't have ANY handheld camera shots but are also not slow cinema?
Neither did Stalin
Assumptions galore! If you're starting with Antonioni for the first time, Red Desert is the obvious choice to start with. It's all Antonioni, but instead of the shadows of a swaying tree, it's Vitti explicitly saying what's going on with her.
It's a good film to see whether Antonioni resonates with you.
Don't listen to him, it's nothing to do with "understanding", it's just overall a better film for first timers because of the concise portrayal of Antonioni's style.
People who can't substantiate why something doesn't seem right, but call only names, needn't be paid attention.
is it possible to clone kubrick and have musk finance the greatest kino never produced, film bros?
