Agnes convinced Borg Queen not to be evil
The Borg are good now
Very convincing argument, Janeway should have tried that
Would it even be a borg queen at that point? It's just nanites in her body interacting with her own brain. It's a fantasy she's making up with her own subconsciosu.
Did the new RLM review drop?
I hope not, I think episode 9 will actually make them commit suicide. Its one of the worst written pieces of media I have ever witnessed in my life. Its legendarily bad.
I'm not watching it so I'm just watching reviews.
Have any of the plot threads shown any kind of resolution?
whenever someone writes 'think about it' I immediately stop reading and dismiss them as mentally invalid. that said I would say that about all of star trek but eh
Not even close and theres only one episode left.
Of course she can't be evil! She's a QUEEN! Watch out for the third season where they fight the evil Borg KING that Picard, the evil old white man, turned into!
I hate this time line so fucking much.
Humanity should've ended after 1945.
That's nuts. Honestly have no clue what even having that bitch run off with the borg queen in her head even accomplishes. I guess she's the violent Octo-queen we see later on? Wow that.... accomplishes nothing because the Borg aren't even relevant or part of the central problem.
I so fully expect Q is just gonna suddenly die with maybe a line or two for him. Then Picard's ancestor goes on her GIRL POWER science mission.
Oh I just realized that Agnes and the Queen are going to be "queer coded" and it's a girl power fantasy.
>you will not be replaced
>diversity will be your strength
>I'm reading high levels of toxic masculinity from Locutus
Relax. You've internalized the brain rot a bit too much.
>Have any of the plot threads shown any kind of resolution?
Rios plot kind of, it seems to indicate that Rios will stay in the past with his Mexican waifu. Which is sad, Rios and Saru are probably the only NyTrek characters I actually like.
>Then Picard's ancestor goes on her GIRL POWER science mission.
For the show's credit, they haven't made her into a girl power character. You could genderswap and nothing would change.
the what now? listen smoothskin, i ain't about turning feral. now git.
The Borg were pretty racist because they didn't even consider Neelix's race worth assimilating.
>Rios plot kind of, it seems to indicate that Rios will stay in the past with his Mexican waifu.
So opposite of The Journey Home? Only question is... why? He knows how shit this timeline is going to work out and it will lead to a world war cataclsysm and nuclear war in less than a century! Why stay? He also has no access to advanced medical technology other than what he can carry with him. Good luck if he has cancer.
I think the lifepsan in the feds for humans is like 120 on average.
She's presented as a super genius who has mastered 20 languages, mastered chess, multiple degrees, but is also filled dwith anxiety and depression. It's a female fantasy character because it's just what they imagine themselves to be. "I'm a super genius just that my depression and anxiety is holding me back. Without that I'd be world famous!"
>Neelix's race
I always thought he was just some gay fella
he was a pedo
They've assimilated entire planets and they've never heard this point before?
Series that spend half the time wanking over how super amazing their characters are, are shit.
>She's presented as a super genius
Yes - which didn't add up when Picard bluescreened in mommissues.sys a few eps back.
Seriously, probably the greatest (living) cyberneticist in the Federation, and can't even hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete on him?
No one cares, only literal basedboy homosexuals watch nuTrek. Please get beat up in public.
Her character is a textbook example of the "we're stronger than we are told to think we are" feminist trope.
Picard is not a robot, and they just lowkey are ignoring that plot point. Which shows they have zero confidence in their own created universe that they're just ignoring parts of it.
And a super ancestor is getting dangerously close to midicholrians and a special destined bloodline which is very Star Wars but not Star Trek. His family were portrayed as not special beforehand.
yes some LGBT groomer either way
Of course, the only villains that Ny Trek is allowed to have are men and robots, because no woman is evil just misunderstood.
E.g.
>Mirror Georgiou (empress) is literally a galactic genocider, but Burnham takes her to the prime universe and she joins the cast, her genocider past isn't brought up. Meanwhile, Captain Locha is the villain of the first season because he dared to plot a coup against Georgiou, despite Georgiou being much worse
>Klingons are led by "Trump-ish" Klingon, and he gets deposed by a good woman Klingon
>Agnes literally murders Bruce Maddox and doesn't go to prison for it.
>lowkey
Die
>>Agnes literally murders Bruce Maddox and doesn't go to prison for it.
It is SO an undignified death for that character. He's a memorable one off. He was well meaning and his position was quite reasonable. He was not some malicious bad guy. Here they just treat him as bearded crazy guy who gets outright murdered.
Not really. More like to try different approach to get better feeling.
Kinda like how drugs work. You want to get better high so to speak and the old drug isn't doing it for you anymore.
>Only question is... why?
I mean, isn't this booty worth dying for?
>She's presented as a super genius
I had forgotten that, but the show itself doesn't seem to care about her... They only brought her up in episode 5 and only gave her like three scenes. Despite technically being the main plotline.
When's the final episode airing? Also has it jacked anyone else off similar to STD with Musk? it makes me lol when I remember the next wright brothers is a pariah now to those dummies
Is this meant to mirror the last supper?
>Despite technically being the main plotline.
I have no idea what the main plotline is. Supposedly it's to find out what happened here that caused the Feds to turn into a powerful strong genocidal empire? So far they've found like no hints to this. Is it related to her mission? Fuck if I know!
>Picard is not a robot
Picard is a robot, Q moved Picard's consciousness into the altered timeline's Picard's body, but he also says that Gul Dukat killed him in this timeline, and they moved his consciousness into a golen (much like in season 1).
I mean it was pragmatic and logical, the Borg queen didnt give a fuck about morality she just realized with Agnes proposal the queen could slip under the radar while having the potential for extreme long term growth. You would also have fucking Borg recruiters potentially subverting and assimilating entire species with the promise of your technology is shit and your people are dying.
I mean im not sure if the Nu-Borg would have free will its more that I think they would be the failures and deranged leftists types who cant think without big daddy government telling them exactly how to live and what to think. The irony is the borg would at least finally give the NPCs some semblance of having a brain by just using their bodies as crude instruments.
I think one aspect people fail to recognize is that the Borg are a collective consciousness, Each drone is not an enslaved person but is rather just a minmaxed automaton with the will of the hivemind guiding it. Thats the thing that people dont understand is that the Borg dont exist as flesh and blood or metal, those bodies are just conduits or gloves the collective uses to manipulate physical space.
I think the reason why the queen acts the way she does is she literally cannot comprehend the desire to remain an individual when being Borg is about unity and order, its state of being and consciousness that she honestly believes that she is like Christian missionaries stamping out African voodoo and heathen religions.
I mean when you have a higher than though religious/spiritual idealogy im pretty sure throughout human history we dealt with the issue of superior conquerers spreading their civilization to barbarians as an ernest way of civilizing them even if they dont want to because its best for everyone.
See id argue it seems creepy your loved ones are apparently turned into soulless automatons but its merely just giving up your flesh in order to exist as a group soul
what if BORG are frens now.
>its merely just giving up your flesh in order to exist as a group soul
controlled by an entity that isn't you, meaning you and everyone else is subject to said entity
just accept it's fucking trash and move on m8
Nothing makes sense
>be Q
>alter the past by convincing Picard's ancestor she is depressed
>transport prime timeline Picard's consciousness into altered Picard's body, also bring his "friends" along for some reason
>give Picard a history lesson about the altered timeline
>fuck-off
>be surprised when you hear Picard has traveled to the past to prevent you from altering it
>realize you are dying and your dick no longer works
>order Doctor Soong to kill Picard
What is this? Is this really the same Q who transported Picard and the crew into Robin Hood recreation?
Not to mention he and Data actually got chummy, and corresponded regularly after the... incident.
That's not racism, they were just repulsed by the rampant paedophilia.
>>alter the past by convincing Picard's ancestor she is depressed
Like the best guess we have is that it's this mission, but it's unclear why this random mission would be even important. It's not like Zach Cochraine's mission where he reached Warp 1 and got the attention of the Vulkans who helped rebuilt Earth.
>>be surprised when you hear Picard has traveled to the past to prevent you from altering it
I'm confused they didn't just have Q do it since he's already there and already changed the timeline anyways. it could be like a playful game. And Q as her therapist would entirely turn out to be misdirection. He just messed with her for the fun of it.
Remember that time in Voyager when the drones had a secret VR hangout where they could be themselves, and when the Queen personally visited it and was shown the view that everyone else found moving because of how beautiful it was and all they had accomplished without the collective there, and felt absolutely nothing but disgust at it?
Actually she didn't because this gay pozzed SJW FILTH is fan fiction and doesn't matter
I quit this season after 2 and a half episodes. Were there any DS9 references apart from the skull of Dukat?
A few signs say "sancutary district", even though there is no dialogue referencing this and it is not portrayed as any different than our own LA. There are no armed guards or check-points. It looks like someone on the team is hired to keep continuity, and they half-assed put some in.
A friend told me a summary of what happened. I couldn't fucking believe what I was hearing
Star Trek will eventually fork the borg.
One borg is post First Contact feminist garbage, the other is TNG “headless hydra” borg
Season 1 would have been ok... if the plot was condensed into one TNG episode length or movie.
The higher AI idea was cool, and the Data dialogue in the final episodes was good. Too much filler otherwise though.
Season 2 is nearly unredeemable. It doesn't have an epic overarching plot like the first season and it's beginning to look like the entire season was filler. 9 episodes in and no revelation on episode 1's Borg queen or why Q is losing his powers. Speaking of Q, John de Lancie is the sole best thing about season 2 but is sadly underutilized, but every scene he's in is interesting.
Summary? I've already dropped this.
When Picard arrives in the new timeline someone asks him "Would you like to call Admiral Sisko?" and he goes "N-no call somebody I know better"
>Season 1 would have been ok... if the plot was condensed into one TNG episode length or movie.
It definitely feels like a TNG movie set after Nemesis that got stretched to 10 episodes.
>Season 2 is nearly unredeemable.
S2 is stupid, but S1 just had a needless maliciousness that i find more off-putting. Minor characters were brought back only to be murdered in undignfiied ways. It's this weird cruelty that they mistake for "mature" writing that is so off-putting.
I'm not one to defend Picard's writing in general but I would have thought it was stupid if she DIDN'T have a change of heart after the shit she lived through.
She's from a timeline where every last Borg ship and drone was exterminated and she herself was being paraded around like Vercingetorix leading up to her own execution, that should really make even the biggest bitch just stop and think for a minute about where they might have fucked up.
They’re really running with this retarded idea? LOL. At least I can use this meme more than I thought I would.
>Star Trek is now about taking the most mentally Ill women and dissecting them
Season 1 would have been okay if Picard just fucking died. Admit it, all of the asshurt about all of the plot holes would have disappeared if they had actually had the balls to commit to "But then the Federation warships and the Romulan warships and the Giant Robot Devil From Another Dimension were all about to kill each other, and...Picard talked them out of it. He made one last plea to their better natures, so convincing it changed their hearts, and then his brain tumor finally got him, and everybody went home remembering how great he was."
Instead they actually went with WE'VE GOT STORIES FOR YEARS PICARD BECOMES A ROBOT DO DOO DOO
No evidence she's even capable of such thinking, and true belivers often double down. See Hitler in his bunker writing his suicide note blaming everyone but himself, and that a new German Reich will rise from the ashes. Pure cope.
Also, portraying this genocidal Fed as significantly stronger than the original Fed is surely stupid. Why would humans solo be stronger than one that is allied with multiple planets and species spanning a vast federation? Isolationist shit holes are corrupt and weak in our world. See: Russia or North Korea.
No they're not. Crap Trek is not canon.
Wait. Does this mean somebody else will get assigned to DS9? Does Sisko’s wife not die now? No emissary now? GUL DUKAT WILL WIN????????? Based Picard writers.
>Isolationist shit holes are corrupt and weak in our world
When you actually look at history, you'll find these are exceptions rather than rules. Take the Roman Empire: corrupt and literally killed barbarians for lulz - and ended up the third-biggest empire ever to exist.
Further, it's generally accepted among people who aren't owned by a telescreen that "diversity is strength" is a pile of bullshit.
There's no content in season 2.
They made an action sequence out of Raffi and Seven driving a police SUV.
We got like four or five scenes of Raffi mourning Elnor/seeing him somewhere when one would have been enough.
We got twenty or so flashback scenes of Picard's mother calling him Jean-Luc and replaying the same scenes over and over.
They were probably severely limited by the pandemic but still, so much padding. More than the first season which already had too much padding.
I read a rumor that they had to scrap some shit after Trump lost. I’ve never seen confirmation, but it’s a believable rumor considering their collective politics.
Roman Empire's goal was not the total genocide of all groups outside of them. Rather they were expansionist and then absorbed the groups. They were quite tolerant of local beliefs, as long as you paid homage to the Empire and Emperor. People could keep their local temples, local customs. Elites were then taken to Rome to be educated and thus Romanized. Successive generations of this and Roman colonization led to more harmony of beliefs.
This is because truly genocidal expansionist empires would be so self-defeating.
There's no proof the Care Bear shit actually works because it's only actually existed for a few decades and is already visibly cracking.
My example would be that the United States was a xenophobic, patriarchal apartheid state full of psycho religious fundamentalists when it
>split the atom
>broke the sound barrier
>invented the computer
>launched simultaneous successful invasions of Asia and Europe
>landed on the moon
Whereas the new and improved Tolerant and Diverse US has a real sense of "What have you done lately?"
Dr. Jurati in the Multiverse of Madness incoming!
More to the point you would have one great Leader like Genghis Khan and then after there would be a steep decline in military power and so the genocidal tactics of the empire would crumble as it got weaker.
