The “m” rating for halo ce was one of the most confusing things that happened. As it was sanitized and childish compared to other m rated games.

The only sensible answer is it was a marketing decision in order to make kids think it was more “adult” than it was. Which clearly worked on A LOT of retards.

Unlike Yea Forumstards who just want John Halo to go pew-pew for 50 minutes every week, I enjoy the exploration of the human side of the characters, their goals, desires, what they learn, how they interact. I like watching the Spartans grow in their understanding of what they’re a part of, learning what Makee’s real intentions and backstory are, seeing Halsey’s plans succeed/fail, and the relationship between Cortana and John has been some of the best parts. I even enjoy the little bit of Kwan Ha each episode to further understand the perspective of the insurrectionists. While the battle scenes have been few and far apart, I’ve appreciated the action AND the drama we get. It’s not a perfect show, and my enjoyment is probably aided by not having played the games, but it’s entertaining and satisfies my want for a decent sci-fi show.

They took risks, the problem is that they literally do not care about the games. The writers admitted to not even playing them.

Not trolling, completely genuine. She’s by far my least favorite part of the show, but her story serves a purpose. It allows the viewer to see how the general population sees the war and the figures in it. We get so many perspectives from inside the UNSC. Being able to understand how their actions affect normal people is necessary and much appreciated.

In fact, I’d say most of the complaints I’ve seen about the show hinge entirely on having played the games. It’s like they can’t separate two different entities in their mind. This show wasn’t made for Halo fans. It was made for people who wanted to watch a show with that guy in the green helmet, his AI assistant, and aliens. The original story woven around that is just bonus.
