Indians do it far better and are actually entertaining. Japs are just embarrassing when they're trying to make anime live action shows.
They're normal movies are pretty good though but I can't say anything notable have come out in the past decade. All their good movies are years old and you have to watch Korean movies if you want anything good from the east now

It's supposed to be set during the Jap invasion of China and there is this kabuki theater where all sorts of silly antics happen as the cast of spies try to do something to some Jap officials.
Actually kind of forgot the plot but I'm pretty sure it had chow Yun fat and Michelle yeoh.

Takashi Miike is the only good Japanese director remaining outside of some of the horror exclusive guys. He sometimes makes live action anime movies but somehow they turn out great, check out Blade of the Immortal and 13 Assassins if you haven't seen them.
