That scene is like a Rorschach test, I’ve seen people say it’s Tony realizing that Chris’s junky behavior is risking his own life as well as an innocent baby, and I’ve seen people say it’s Tony looking for an excuse to kill Chris. I lean more towards the first.

Most of his actions people consider him as insecure for is actually just him keeping up appearances so he can maintain his image as a boss, like him beating up that bald driver of his for no reason. Tony is a professional gangster. He depends on toxic masculinity to do his job properly. There is really no effective way to not be violent and threatening in that lifestyle. Not to mention, Tony and his colleagues are supposed to be immoral and have personality disorders.
