Seemed like with Wendy getting crazier every episode it was going to end up with Marty or some one not putting up with her shit anymore and killing her but nah. >Marty asks Ruth for help to get his children back
>Ruth exposes Wendy's dad as a violent alcoholic and has him go away without the children at gunpoint
>wendy gets out of nuthouse
>Wendy, Marty, Navarro's sister, Ruth and Rachel strike a deal with the FBI to have money laudered throught the casino with Navarro's sister as cartel boss
>wendy throws a party
>navarro's sister asks pharmaceutical lady who killed Javi, she tells her it was Ruth
>Navarro is told he's being transfered to another prison, gets put in a van and killed on the road
>Navarro's sister follows Ruth to her home and kills her after the party
>Byrdes go back home and find a window broken, PI dude shows up with Ben's ashes and confronts them, Jonah appears with a shotgun pointed at him and screen goes black as you hear a gunshot

Marty kills a captain for cooking the books to establish control, the drug lord’s sister tries to assassinate him and Marty figures it out, they work out a deal the sister to stay in control and get rid of the drug lord, drug lord is framed as trying to escape and gets shot, at a fundraiser party the mom of Javi questions the pharma ceo girl and she cracks and admits it was Ruth who killed her Son. She kills Ruth, the PI who was sent back to Chicago breaks into Marty’s house and finds Ben’s ashes and threatens to go public with it and Jonah shoots him

I felt he definitely got more stiff as he went along and legit sounds like he’s reading off cue cards.

He is in that new Outer Range show, its terrible though and they have him playing a subdued type.
He did bring some nice energy to the show, they rushed his arc too quickly. Could have developed him and the kids relationahip more (they probably wanted a minimal scenes with that kid as possible though).

Pay attention to the Wendy and the Father conversation after that. It was a meta commentary about how it can go either way but ultimately people would side with the Father view because muh Breaking Bad. Then it goes full circle with the last scene and dialogue about how the world really works.

this season was so cringe. Infallible and virtuous black female FBI agent and mexican female sheriff. Introducing an arbitrary new problem every episode or so. Pharma woman backs out then re-agrees 1000x just to create drama. Every storyline involving the annoying teenage kids. Javi being introduced just to play the same role as the cartel boss, then his mom is introduced to play the exact same role. Wendy's father comes in just to annoy them and create more dumbass little problems they have to overcome, same with the private investigator. by the end of the season i was just skipping ahead 10 seconds 100 times through the episode and still completely predict what was happening. creating arbitrary problems for characters isn't drama, its tedious needless and cringe.

Ruth killing Javi was like Joe Pesci character killing Billy Batts in Goodfellas. That bill was going to come due eventually and she was going to be on the hook for it.

Ozark peaked in the very first episode, anything after that is just faux HBO for soap opera watchers who want to experience "high brow drama", not a single memorable scene that doesnt had to do with DUDE SOMEONE GOT LAID/SHOT OUT OF NOWHERE. All the Breaking Bad comparisons are beyond me because at least that had the decency to be fun after the lukewarm first few espisodes, apparently the only thing you need to be a "Breaking Bad killer" is a charisma vacuum wife and a barely passable written white trash side-kick, the former shouldn't even exist because the only reason Skyler didn't destroy the show was because she didn't has this meaningless competition for screen time with the rest of the lead characters, when she is as integral to the story as the main character you cant afford to make your lead actress to be the most punchable character. Ruth is tolerable but not nearly enough to make up for how everyone else is just there as some kind of plot cockblock, this is not even getting into Marty which is probably the dullest script Bateman has ever been given considering the kind of show this is, a well done Ozark would've been the best TV of his life but somewhere along the second season it seemed to get "just here for the paycheck" status.
