This is a show I really wanted to like. I tried to like it. The idea of the show is really comfy and reminds me of my single days, but I couldn’t make it past season two. The show is just not good. All of the characters are intolerable, the main character is the worst. It’s sad cause there are some scenes that I laughed out loud on, put it’s still hard to make through a whole episode with out getting on my phone. I like all the main character actors in other stuff there in except Ted cause I don’t think he’s in anything else. The show is just lame.

Yeah for me too the first 4 or 5 seasons were great sitcom TV, not high brow but usually 1 or 2 legit laughs an episode. After that it gets into the standard thing that happens to all sitcoms that go on too long. Formulaic, soapy, recurring jokes, and a general change in tone towards the unironic mocking of the content itself through the performances of a cast too comfortable with themselves.

The issue with the ending is they filmed it in S2, so they had years knowing how the show was going to end to make it all make sense, and they shit the bed so hard

First two seasons were comfy fun but they fucked it by constantly dick teasing not only the mother but the Ted and Robin ship.
Which is even more retarded because as they pushed it they also told us why it was never going to work with them and why we should accept it. Only for them to get together anyways and completely ruin Barney's arc in the process.

It's like the last couple of seasons were made to explicitly piss on the fans for no reason.
