The Uncle totally would have tried to return the favor of having his whole family killed, and there's no reason to think he wouldn't. The uncle was way more pragmatic and level headed. He still had a wife, a son, and a house. He wasn’t going to leave his family behind just to kill his nephew. He was a coward anyway, he literally ran away and gave up the kingdom at the first sign of trouble. The guy was just obsessed with fate and what not because he did powerful psychedelics when he was 10 and got brainwashed by his father

As far as featured films go, this was easily the best one in a few years, but it wasn’t like absolutely amazing or anything

I feel weird about it. I have 0 feelings toward it. I neither enjoyed it or hated it. I left thinking, "Yep, that was a movie. It was 2.5 hours long."

When dissected, every element is perfect. When combined, it produced something that made me feel exactly nothing. Easily my weirdest reaction to a movie.

You are right that he was obsessed with his fate, but that's what made him interesting. And it's not like it wasn't reinforced throughout his life. He probably would've stayed with the raiders had that witch woman not given him the prophecy. That's something that was interesting too, it's not exactly clear how much of the magic was real or not.

I think he would have let him go if he stopped being a problem in his life. I mean, he never asked for proof that the son was dead. If he really wanted to make sure both of them died he could’ve killed them both with arrows, or asked them to bring him back his head when he sent the men out. Once he lost the kingdom, he probably wouldn’t really have thought it was that important to take care of him, but he did murder his family, and wouldn’t leave them alone. He really only wanted to kill the uncle, which would make revenge more likely. He didn’t set out to kill his whole family so that rationalization doesn’t make perfect sense
