>In a scene which was cut from Dune, as they try to save the life of the Baron, Rabban asks, "will he live?" "Do you want him to?" the technician replies. Rabban leans in close. "If he dies, everyone you love dies."

WTF was Dennis thinking?

Seems like a good scene and in-character for Rabban.

Sounds just about right for the setting

Sounds pretty good, I actually think something was missing between the Baron getting saved and him appearing bathing in the black liquid.

You just know.

I would really want to see the extended version of DUNC.

Well yeah. Because it wasn't in the book. In the book, Rabban is a retard brute but secretly clever and Baron makes note of it in his mind. But anyway, who gives a shit.. glad it was cut.

Main problem for me with this movie besides being a bit Spartan, was yes, should have been fewer lingering shots, and more cut scenes kept, and unironically more fast-pace / action.

I liked the red haired harokonnens better. Ginger is scarier than bald

>Dune
>neofeudal pseudoclassical postludite retrofundamentalism
>nihilistic minimalism tho

One of those dosent fit, why does everything look like a apple product?

The part that irked me was when the Baron took nephews word when he came in to tell him they died in the storm. no "did you see the bodies" no nothing. just straight into yeah we win. get absolutely rekt fuckos lol.

They really need to release an extended edition of this. So many connecting bits are missing from the movie it appears rather disheveled.

Count Fenring is going to be left out again, he's one of my favorite characters in Dune, and his scenes with the Baron on G.Prime really develop the Baron and Feyd's personalities so it's a dayum shame.

>10,000 years into the future
>"why don't things look familiar"
10k years ago humanity's greatest technological advance was a pointy stick

>”why did you come here rattling your armor, to tell me a thing is certain when it is not?”
They raped the baron

Extended imax cut when? I'm not Gonna wait a decade for all this shit

its more like 20.000

That argument doesn’t hold up when your main characters name is “Paul.” I think you dont quite understand Dune. The setting is supposed to be intentionally anachronistic. These people purged machines, they surround themselves with wood panelling.

>Jessica is tied
>Baron wearing girl slippers
>His belly touching Jessica

KINO

>Baron survives thanks to the shield and his big ass

who is playing Irulan?

Anya

Amber Turd

fucking hell user. thats the first ive seen of any of this. thx fren

Darude Sandstorm

ok, baldy

>Anya
Debicki would be perfect, but she might be too old.
>Amber Turd
better than Pugh, but definitely too old.

But they do look familiar
Thats my point, they look like adidas and apple designed it together for a ultra music festival, everythink looks like something out of a 2015 first person shooter, its a minimalistic, monochrome, generic mesh of curves and poligons

This is supposed to be a culture in which everything is somekind of retro-neo-pseudo mix of historicistic styles
This was actualy a great opportunity because most of it is just facade and decoration, whats behindit is just steel and concrete, but the face of it is intended to give a sense of deepfaked history and complex hierarchies, its the exact opposite of villenuves nihilist minimalism

I get what you're saying but the previous attempts at translating the style were horrendous. I'll bet Villeneuve just wanted to play it safe. The film probably won't look dated in 20 years.

Linch pulled it off realy well
Its exactly as described, like putting a gold painted barroque frame on a concrete wall

They could of literaly just done that, keep it all brutalist, just add some absurd, obviously bolted on decoration, even show places where it fell off leaving a glue-stain on the wall, it would be much closer to the source

>Turd
In about three weeks, she won't star in anything ever again

Unironically

>10k years ago humanity's greatest technological advance was a pointy stick
Towns existed 10kya but great point

Only if she maintains this pained, long-suffering, quivering lip, demeanor the whole time. My goodness is that affect attractive.

i don’t know how to interpret the sounds fenring making in the book
is he just sighing a lot and intentionally drawing out his words
what would it sound like irl

>the previous attempts at translating the style were horrendous
Actual retard.

dumbass, the Baron is supposed to not know their exact fate in case he has to face a truthseer

And some fucking color, why is dune so bland.

I'm guessing they'll eventually do an extended directors cut combining both part 1 and part 2 into a single film.

>denis shot this and not the dinner scene
I love the movie but I wish it were 4hrs long.

indeed, but why then why does he berate Rabban for being such a fuck wit?

kek. basically you win

Fuck Villeneuve, it's insulting that he acts like the arbiter of the final cut and is refusing to release any deleted scenes because they didn't 'fit his vision' of the final film, even though he admitted running time was a huge constraint.

Wait, Bogtista was in Dune?

>historicistic
Fat kids like this are just repeating a meme that originated when Autist Zero had some kind of reaction to a scene where two characters walk across a desert.
Why's it so empty? lol
DUNC is a reasonably good attempt at the source material. But it has a fatal flaw: There are too many characters to introduce. Half the first movie was entree, and they never got around to The Emperor, Irulan, or Feyd, and you gotta do Alia, and half the characters they did introduce got shorted, like Stilgar.
It was too much shit. Using Irulan as an expository device was one of the few normie decisions Lynch made. But in this one they have to do all the fucking legwork.

dinner scene was a painful omission
even the sci fi channel took that scene and ran with it

I still think Lynch's worms were the best.
That tri-mouth is kino.

Same. I like Lynch's worms best of any adaptation so far.

Should have been the soundtrack

>Darude Sandworm
Id listen to it

Literaly looks like a asspenis

They should have made the bristles blue so that the the mouth looks like a blue iris, thus highlighting the the worms' relationship with the spice (and also making it look less like a gaping anus). Huge wasted opportunity.

It includes the sex scene between these two.

Just saw this movie and god damn it was silly
Force shields make guns useless.
Everybody goes back to medieval age melee. Nobody uses shieds, armour, cavalry, some equivalent to catapults, or just swarms of that little flying shits that slowly get to you
Dune makes shield obsolete coz makes sandworms crazy. Nobody uses guns.
Nobody uses giant vehicles to just squish infantry, nobody uses carmagedon looking cars to kill infantry, nobody uses spears, maces, flamethrowers, incendiary grenades, gas.
120deg temp. No problem i l just use some scarf over my head, not even to cover my face
800 km/h winds spins helicopter sized ship slower than some roller-coaster theme park attraction. Don t crush them into the ground. When it does they don t die from the inertia shock
Somehow in the year that the dune universe is they don t have radars and rely on some ww2 anti aircraft search lights to spot spaceships
Poison can kill everybody in a room even ppl 10m away in a second but not the guy you blew ur load directly to his mouth from 5cm away
Bull fights are still a thing in the year 999999
No alien that is hard to kill with a sword was ever discovered and trained to be used in combat across the galaxy
The bitch that can use her voice to fuck up your head just doesn t speak trough giant speakers to insta win wars

>cavalry
A cavalry charge would just bounce off the other side's shields. Did you miss the whole thing where they block anything approaching above a certain speed? Maybe horse archers could work but they would have to use low-velocity arrows so you could just wear a padded shirt under your shield

>Dune makes shield obsolete coz makes sandworms crazy. Nobody uses guns.
The fremen have guns, Paul even steals one and uses it to cover his mother.

>10k years ago humanity's greatest technological advance was a pointy stick
Gobekli Tepe is at least 10k years old, pseud.
