In Survivor the black players made a black-only alliance because they needed to win for “da culture”, despite the fact that there have been plenty of black winners before.

I was a huge BB fan, a big TAR fan and a little lesser of a Survivor fan.

I watched the first few weeks of the last BB until the black alliance formed and that was it for me. I'll see what the cast looks like. The last BB was the lowest rated season yet and like 30% of their viewers stopped watching.

I didn't see the last 1/3rd of Survivor last year. The pregnant tranny thing and the "come on guys" stuff was almost enough for me to turn it off, but the failed black alliance was about the end of it for me. The season before it wasn't much better with the sexual harassment stuff.

And I gave up on TAR after they focused some ep around a gay couple in the Middle East winning a comp one or two seasons ago.

Sounds like Survivor shit though. I haven't turned it on as wrestling's on at the same time.

They even called it a “POC alliance”, but their first target was an immigrant Asian woman.

The Cookout is kind of a bad example.

A 6 way alliance in a game where each player is part of a two person team means the Cookout started with a 12 person voting block. No amount of strategy on earth can overcome bare faced attrition like that.

It was the limited imagination of the other 5 black non-winners that allowed the winner be the winner. Had any one of the five opened up their minds to the possibility that the final six didn't HAVE to be all black, any one of them could have been the actual winner. But because it meant more to six people that the winner MUST be black, five people went home losers because they couldn't accept a non-black player getting second place.

My favourite winner is a POC (Yul Kwon).

Maryanne and Drea can either try for an all girls secret alliance or a dark skin alliance, but never have the numbers one way or the other, and any attempt to further that goal will only irritate whoever is left because at this point everyone has their own mind made up about the final three.

As long as the 3 non-POC vote together consistently and aren't fucked sideways by an abundance of twists or advantages, the best way to avoid the shit when shit hits the fan is to step to the side of the fan. Let the POC take out the POC.

Maryanne and Drea remind me of Audrey Middleton, the first transgender player in Big Brother 17.

On the very first day during the player introduction segment when they're all grouped around the coffee table and couches in the living room and get the champagne and get to meet each other Audrey stands up in front of everyone and with absolute "YASS QUEEN SLAY" attitude declares that they are the very first trans contestant and that they're gonna inspire all the trans and be a beacon for everyone like them so they can live their best life and yadda yadda yadda.

It was made very clear that the intent going in was to have this life changing experience of affirmation and acceptance and love and celebrity and support for being so brave and inspiring.

But the problems started basically the next day. Weaseling into an all girls alliance, and then talking shit about Da'Vonne behind her back in front of other witnesses to a house meeting being called and being outed as a shit disturber.

Audrey's successes and failures were measured by being trans.

Drea's successes and failures are being measured by her being black.

Neither of them have been honest about their critics pointing out that they are bad players is because they're bad players and has nothing to do with being trans or black. They just handwave away all criticism as transphobia or racism instead of doing the work to be better players.
