Everything after ENT is basically like when comic books do a 'reboot' of their universe. Viacom/Paramount can yell and scream all they want that it's all 'canon' (mainly because they own all the rights to all of it and can legally say anything they want, even if it's bullshit) but the logical, factual, and continuity problems between ENT and prior to STD and later all say different.
Why did they do this?
1. They painted themselves into a corner with ENT and earlier. Can't move forward anymore.
2. Classic Trek audiences aren't getting any bigger because the younger demographic isn't interested in ENT and previous, doesn't connect with them.
3. It's a business decision, plain and simple. Money, it's all about money. Viacom/Paramount doesn't give a shit about the classic Trek fans, not really. Even PIC caters as much to the younger viewers as it does to the viewers who like classic Trek. So those of us who know classic Trek well and see the paradoxes and glaring continuity problems between old and new can pound sand so far as they're concerned.
