It’s just cringe that Lisa Simpson is supposed to be a ‘person’ real celebrities want to meet and hang out with, who complains to real people about her fictional cartoon problems, and she’s a 34 year old cartoon character. Most shows pull this off by doing it as a joke, early Simpsons and Sesame Street usually did it a little funny and clowned on the whole idea a bit. This is just a real person being put into a cartoon to hear fictional stress and invented child neglect. We have enough real people in the world, why do they have to have fucking Lisa Simpson asking for sympathy over how bad her life is

These cameo characters they do now are so out of place. Even just how much more detailed the clothes are. It's like they're shopped in from a different cartoon.

This feels like massive cope. Homer was always far more annoyed and dismissive of Lisa's saxamaphone than supportive. You can find the occasional episode where he is ultimately supportive and does the right thing in the end, but then every other episode has him yelling at Lisa for being loud, missing or coming late to recitals, etc. It should be telling that two of the three example pics used in the OP is from the same episode. It's bitch-basic cherry picking.

Anyone who has watched the Simpsons should know this. Homer will ultimately do the "right thing" when it comes to supporting his kids and their interests, but he is also far more annoyed by Lisa's sax than he is appreciative of it (even if just the noise, not the "idea" of it). Of course Lisa doesn't feel like he is super supportive of it.

I haven't watched any new episodes for about 8 years, it's put me off early episodes when they were great.

I feel like earlier cameos were just jokes but at some point it became some PR rite of passage to be on the Simpsons. I don't think you'd get George Bush tearing up Homers lawn in a new Simpsons (and even then that episode might be going too far)
