Los Angeles is an absolute shithole. Couldn't believe how bad it was, Hollywood's fictional romanticised version results in a shock to the system for anyone that actually sees it in the flesh. There were so many better places I saw in America. If I lived in the US it would be one of the last places I'd choose to live.

LA has a lot of dystopian aspects-- Skid Row, de facto settlement of shanty towns that should be removed no matter the cost, Venice Beach becoming a junkie zone etc etc-- and some scenic views too.
