The Simpsons should have ended before 9/11, it was already showing signs of rot and decline before then but still managed to wangle the occasional halfway decent episode.

Al Jean turned the show into a liberal soapbox with the pacing/timing of a laugh track sitcom.
She of Little Faith is the literal death of the Simpsons. This is the first episode after Scully left (technically there is a somewhat decent dad rock episode he did showrun afterwards, but as far as everything is concerned, The Parent Rap is his last produced episode as a four-season showrunner).

Whatever. I haven't watched traditional network television for years so they can do what. I have no resentment towards the state of The Simpsons. It's not like there's a timeline where it was going to be good for thirty years so we're not getting robbed of potentially good episodes. Besides, I'm sure they have metrics that enough people watch out on Disney+ that it justifies is continued existence.

Simpsons is actually good now and these last two episodes were almost golden age level. We're back to season 9-12 levels of quality and things can only get better now bros.

>We're back to season 9-12 levels of quality
But that's when the show got bad

Yes, it got bad. 9-12 you could see a sharp drop in quality. After that and moving into the HD era it became completely unwatchable. In the grand scheme of things 9-12 whilst bad were nowhere near the worst and now that we're back to that level of quality I think we can only go up from here bro. Simpson bros, we're back.

What, you're telling me it had 1 million+ viewers before for the past several years? Even as it became far left propaganda relying on celebrity cameos more than the original brand of humor?

Meh, most people stream rather than watch live.
And they've said countless times that merch sales count more than viewing numbers.

I'd say it's closer to seasons 13-16 now.
Decent/watchable but not exactly good or something I'd recommend to people.
8-12, as unfortunate as they were, still had occasional laugh out loud jokes.

>The Sound of Bleeding Gums
>My Octopus and a Teacher
These lack the subtle jokes and clever execution that Seasons 9-12 still had in hand despite the rot in plot, and they lack any sort of comical relief Seasons 9-12 had as well. In addition, Scully would not retread Bleeding Gums beyond a meta joke line, he wouldn't ever push an episode about BLACK POWER, and he would not approve of anything where Lisa is the problem of everything and gets zero repercussions.

Even 20 seconds of the most average Scully episode like The Mansion Family manages to be more hilarious than the garbage from these last two weeks. The only episodes in the last few months-- perhaps even all the years since Al Jean took over in 2001, that came close to golden age material were Pixelated and Afraid and Boyz N' The Highlands.

Why do you have to lie?

Surprisingly yes

>it's a sustainable business model to script, storyboard, animate, score, and voice act an entire show that no one actually watches because enough boomers doze off in their recliners with FOX on during their Sunday routine
I wonder how long they could get away with making 5 minute episodes and just filling the rest of the runtime with dead air.

>The only funny thing in these two episodes was the guy slipping on the floor and that Everything+ joke
Just kill the show. Kill the merch. No one even buys the merch. It makes no sense

How do they even get these ratings

>it's a sustainable business model
no doubt that's what their business case says, but those numbers could be as fake as the viewership

Shitposting really takes no effort these days

Sneed.

baka desu senpai

they are instructionally supported by fox, theyll just adjust the agenda retard

The Simpsons itself doesn't need to get ratings. It's an international brand, that makes money through shitty merch, and mobile games no one you know plays, but has like, 500 million downloads in India, or something fucked up like that.

when something on network gets less than a redditlettermedia shitted out video you need to start to question why they don't just play that instead

I'm more surprised the show even reaches close to 1 million.

Did this really happen?

Off-topic but that's a freaking hilarious reaction image

they need to bring back Sneed

I have never ever watched a single episode of Simpsons. I played the hit n run game.

Where do I start and where do I stop? I don't go in for excessive liberalism.

Season 5 killed the soul of the simpson, Homer in space, Bart gets an elephant, springfield casino, monorail, they have good jokes but it's such a massive departure from previous seasons, more grounded and beleivable american familly drama presentation

.

What liberal politics are the show espousing?

Krabappel's "permanent replacement" is a niggress

7G-7F are weird, they are showran by the creator and some James Brooks and Sam Simon guy
8F-4F are the good seasons, Al Jean+Mike Reiss, David Mirkin, Oakley and Weinstein
5F-CABF is where Mike Scully takes over, it's the decline with theme park tier characterizations but there's still very funny and memorable moments throughout, even if there's some way too silly stuff on the surface
DABF is the moment Al Jean (without Mike Reiss) begins to take over, he showruns every single episode in it except one. Scully's episode is meh but not half bad, Jean's episodes are mediocre to terrible even when compared to the Scully episodes
EABF+ is the moment of no return as Al Jean begins his reign of terror

it was greatly exaggerated

My boomer parents have never heard of Simpsons past the first two seasons

Simpsons will never die. It will be kept alive by Latinos forever.

They've never heard of the Simpsons?

Do you mean they've only seen the early entries or are completely unaware that it's still on the air?

Not hating black people

Holy shit the simpsons has been calling conservatives evil retards for 30 years and THATS what you're mad about? Fucking lmao

They've only seen the early entries. They're a heavily moral couple so it'd make sense why they stopped watching it when it got actually funny instead of dopey

The entire premise of the show is a feminist critique of the nuclear family and stay at home mothers in particular. Its been a liberal soapbox since it was on the Tracey Ullman show

Oh that explains it. First 8 seasons were great if memory serves me. When it stopped being a family with heart warming stories and just endless gag jokes it turned to shit.

Next week's episode, "The Simpsons are going to the Ukraine!"

You should show them the Sneed sign and ask if they get the joke.

>The Regina Monologues
>EABF
The episode that made me truly drop the show

Hard to believe this show is still going. Aren't all the episodes about social justice now?

>In this week's episode, Lisa cares deeply about deaf people, next week she'll care deeply about an octopus

Sneed thread to page 1

i thought the show finished?

Are you talking about Covercraft? Best ep in years.

Oh fuck you. For once, they have a good excuse to change the character since Marcia Wallace died

Bart and the cool kid was a classic wholesome simpsons.

Based.

Lol a liberal show about a conservative family in a small town that goes to church and had a uncle that was a genius support the 2nd amendment. sure buddy sure.

For me 9 and 10 are VERY different from 11 and 12. 9 and 10 still have a sprinkling of golden age humor here and there above 50% of the time. 11 onward is just plain unfunny 99% of the time.

I could beieve this but even if it were true. It's way too late for that. There's still 20 seasons worth of bad material. They'd have to produce another 5 seasons at least of consistent golden age material to make the new episodes worth watching

that means there are still 900,000+ retards in america that doesn't make me feel good at all

I havent watched Simpsons since i was 15. Which was season 3.

Only faggots like that show and all of its jokes are terrible. The characters are unlikeable and it isnt funny.
