am i the only one who thinks gus sucks in BCS? he's a great antagonistic force in BB but he feels like he does nothing in this series. jimmy and mike are vastly different than in BB and their lives are expanded upon but gus feels like the exact same character he was in BB. it also doesn't help that there's no stakes with his character since we know he lives to see hector blow off half his face in a few years.

Medicine is a relevant term. Sugar itself can be used to treat some conditions which makes it medicine. But if the ingested substance is not actually used to treat the condition that the patient is suffering from, it ceases to be medicine. Since Ibuprofen has no effect on Hector's heart condition, it ceases to be medicine in this context and does serve as a placebo since Hector believes that it will help him. You see this during the first time he takes his sugar pills, where the placebo effect actually does prevent him from having a stroke.
