When are you finally going to admit that it's kino?

What do you mean OP? It’s one of Jerry Goldsmith’s best film scores.

I already have.

All of his Star Trek work is great, especially Final Frontier. And the Voyager theme.

I don't think it's interesting or cohesive.

Hobbs and Shaw 2 when?

Production was messy, they were literally rewriting the script as they were filming, which resulted in some disjointed scenes, and ones that should've been cut.
>Kirk just witnessed a gruesome transporter accident that killed two people
>five minutes later he laughs at Bones for refusing to take the transporter

Why is everybody talking about the 4K? I thought it's been out for awhile.

A couple of weeks I think

It only just came out and it's kinda shit teebeeaich

Fucking solar panels benchod bridge bastard!

It still looks like the magnetic tube train from the original matte painting to me but they added a nuTrek flair to it, which brings it up to what was shown in STD.
My primary complaint is that the restoration is pretty shoddy as far as color timing goes and the new computer generated effects are far too advanced for a 1979 film. The first attempt in 2001 looked a lot more "natural" on a smaller budget. It probably helped that it was seen in 480p, though.

This one.

kys

I torrented I-IV in 4K seven months ago. Amazon says the first 4 films came out in a 4K box set in September. Dunno why TMP is getting hyped now.

>Dunno why TMP is getting hyped now.
They just came out with a 4K version of the Director's Edition, which is totally different from the 1979 film.

i keep saying for years that it's the only star trek film. Others are movies or flicks.

Ahhh ok. Now it makes sense. Thx user. I shall steal this version as well.

Did they edit out the cock bulge?

They enhanced it!

"Out there, Thataway!"

I-VI are films.
VII-X are movies.
XI-XIII are flicks.

Sorry chief. The Motion Pictre is a film, overture and everything. All the others are TV movies of the week, lets be star wars attempts.

The Decker Pecker is iconic.

He was misunderstood.

TMP and UC for me. WoK is reddit.

>literally directed by the man who directed The Andromeda Strain and The Sound of Music, which at that point was the highest grossing film of all time

They knew what they were doing.

>no "Star Trek" in the subject
OP is a fag.

What is this fuck? I can only find WEB sources. I guess this is a Paramount+™: A Mountain of Entertainment™ exclusive? Just like Wrath of Khan 4K was streaming-only for a few years so you can enjoy your nicely compressed 4K image.

Everyone always shits on TSFS but it's absolutely kino
>stealing the Enterprise
>Christopher Lloyd
>You Klingon bastards!
>self destruct scene
>the fal-tor-pan
It's kino and I'm tired of people saying it's not.

Properly formatted thread:

Good luck trying to torrent it, Jewamount has been cracking down hard on that shit.

>It's kino and I'm tired of people saying it's not.
Because you grew up knowing the ending so ST3 is the about the friends you made along the way, not necessarily the plot. Oldfags literally had the movie spoiled by the movie itself. They called it "Search for Spock" and had the Enterprise exploding in the trailer. So, fans went in pissed off and then just got pissed off at little things that they'd probably overlook otherwise.

I watched the Fury fight for free on Saturday.

I'm on IPT and have a seedbox so I'm not worried about that. I'm just not looking forward to those crushed blacks.

Wurm: "Ensign Pecker reporting for duty."
Woman: "My oath of celibacy is on record captain may I assume my duties?"
Wurm: "Dis gun be good."

Absolutely. I mean, it's not as good as Khan or Voyage Home but people seem to put it in shit tier as if it's not a cinematic masterpiece.

Christopher Lloyd hams it up almost as much as Shatner

>ITS ALL ABOUT SEX
>EVERYTHING IS ABOUT SEX
wtf is wrong with him

What I hate is the jew crying poor all the time. So First Trek all the greedy pigs coming out in droves to make that Star Wars money and got burned all the others were on the same schedule and budget as Jason of Star Command.

:(((

Christopher Plummer is the best Klingon

Are you having a stroke?

Best warp effect ever with the original sound effect. They altered it slightly in the other versions.

I fucking love the disco tunnel.

LOL yes, I fucked up, but you get the idea. LMAO!

Who ever animated this should be given an award.
All the other warp effect were El Cheapo Kmart studio.

What are some major differences between the theatrical and the directors cut?

I've always had a high opinion of it. Well, most of it. The uniforms were kind of silly and the dudes should have worn cups or codpieces or something to keep twigs and berries out of view. Pic related was hilarious. Think he was down at the Regal Beagle hitting on girls half his age when someone from Star Fleet came and drafted him.

Attached: star-trek-the-motion-picture-mccoy.jpg (1288x710, 39.18K)

It's fine. The script is grade A, despite copying an episode of the show. I can't abide by the horrible production design though.

>trims some of the scenes that go on too long
>adds character scenes back in that were cut from the theatrical version
>replaces some effects (pic related)

What if Khan found V'ger first?

Attached: Vger_Khan.jpg (714x310, 105.01K)

What are some of e differences between the Theatrical and the 4 K restoration?

Khan takes what he wants.
Vger was getting fucked right in the pussy.

Interesting, thanks.

Personally Id doubt he'd get passed the friendship communications barrier.

Don't you mean the Enterprise theme?

Those people want "PEW! PEW! PEW!" and constant sight gags.

Jerry did the theme for Star Trek: Voyager

They're exactly the same, just with some color tweaks

fucking splinter threads

This. Hail Hitler!
Kirk has huge balls. You know this.

What if I'm color blind?

My Friends. The great experiment, Andromeda.
Raimey? Really?

It just seems kind of awkward for them to say the transporters are malfunctioning because the new tech needed more time to be installed, and then a few minutes later laugh at the old man who didn't want his molecules scrambled.
It feels like one scene was written and filmed first, and then the other was part of a rewrite, and since TMP was on a time crunch to be completed by its release date, they went ahead and shoved it in.
