It literally is all the fault of Allison Schapker. All of the things that made season one such a joy to watch were taken away in the name of representation and inclusion and safe space and feminism.

We're talking about a world where the human body is so interchangeably disposable, people lost respect for them. So mechanized parts, sleeve upgrading, nudity, sex, graphic violence, primal fighting and debasement are common, so much so it's even commodified. Schapker didn't want nudity on set, or hookers, or any real fighting or violence, or anything that made persons of colour even potentially perceived as anything less than perfect awesome superpeople.

It was a soapbox lecture for its entire fucking runtime, and what was done to Falconer was unendingly stupid.

When women control more of the writers room and/or production the level of lore specific authenticity goes out the window. When all of the things that make a franchise what it is stop being used in its on screen adaptation, it's almost always the fault of women, particularly leftists.

Another good example is Witcher. Consider the amount of nudity in season one to the noticeable change of only a singular dark and fast CGI quick cut scene involving a Bruxa.

Less monsters. Less fights. Less lore. And "representation" gets dialed up to 11.

While I do agree that for most audience members, the sheer volume of woke content is a turn-off, at a corporate level the cause of death is competition from other platforms.

Disney+ gets all the Marvel and Star Wars, CBS All Access gets Star Trek, and the best sitcoms of the 90's are going to whoever pays the most and Netflix is billions in debt. So purely on a functional level, Netflix doesn't have the library to sustain high sub fees. They don't have the war chest to spend the necessary money to develop truly awe inspiring original content any more, and every cable network is launching their own platform and taking what IP they can with them.

There was a time when Netflix had everything all in one place, but high sub fees, lower quality, exploding woke junk, soapbox preachy lecture content, their best catalog offerings returning to the networks or parent companies they belonged to, and their pissy ever present commenting on the social or politic topics of the day is really just ruining them as a service provider.
