Could they do this in 2002? Didn't workers have any rights?

Making this thread again?
Its all these brainless fuckwads can do. I would kill myself if my brain was a pile of mush like that
meanwhile you fucks can't post or contribute to a single OC thread. everything has to be a spam post about batman or some cape shit or fag shit or talking about kids. this thread even if it is spam is at least new.
fucking dumbasses can't do shit but complain. going to make a new OC thread rn though, it'll die in 10 mins but whatev
This movie was creepykino
>my spam is better than their spam!
create OC or kys, that simple
Calm down lol
no but new spam for a couple days ain't bad. oc threads fly under teh radar most times bc people prefer repeated sneed/post fav actor/current drama/etc. threads.
i do create OC, and this thread is basically op's oc. annoying to see fucks trying to put it down when they offer jack shit.
30 minutes is perfect. An hour and a half lunch break is for the upper class, where you go to the Dorsia and get sloshed.
Seriously, when you have an hour and a half you go out to eat something. You spend that hour and a half on the workfloor it's way too long. But it's non optional.
Also: I remember from last thread there were two disgruntled guys because their lunchbreak wasn't paid. I thought this was normal?
I guess it's the difference between menial work and white collar jobs?
Imagine a factory with a hundred workers, who each get their lunchbreaks paid. That's half an hour times five times one hundred times 52. No boss is going to pay their employee to eat. Wtf kind of business model is that? I mean, I'm all for it, but I've never heard of it. The hours you eat get added onto your 38-hour week. They're not included you morons. The only thing is, you still full under the insurance of your work if something were to happen to you.
>workers rights
Tell me you're not an American without telling me you're not an American.
did you forget the other stuff? he printed extra copies of every single photo that woman gave him
Lawyer here. I take two hour lunches every single day.
>new spam for a couple days ain't bad.
no, bad mindset
>this thread is basically op's oc.
no, its been made before. stop condoning shitposting
I bet you're busy with work at least one hour of that. I'd die of boredom if I had a two hour lunchbreak.
imagine think thats why they really fired him
the manager was looking for an excuse to get rid of him because no one liked him
cry

Meanwhile we have Sneed/tax policy/Mr Pink/Harry Potter race mixing/bane/euphoria shitposting threads hourly..
you get fired if you're sick for more than 3 days in america
Dorsia? How’d you swing that?
Tech consultant here. I work from home so my lunches range from 90 minutes to 3-4 hours when there's nothing to do.
I genuinely pity the wagies who have bosses monitoring them.
How the fuck do you *accidentally* take a 90 minute lunch?
>Yoshi watch the counter for me.
stop making this thread kike
shut the fuck up
Is every movie Robin Williams was in really about a gay man coming out?
I do physical work, so working for four hours with an hour and a half in between, only to start another four hours. Fuck that. You'd fall asleep and have no intention of going through another grueling four hours. It's better to grab a quick bite and keep the momentum going. I might be a wagie, but my job has set hours. And it forces me into a rhythm, which I like.
kek
What the fuck is a tech consultant? That's so generic.
user, asking the REAL questions.
it's one of those "jobs" that rich people get other rich people's family members where they "add value" to a company by reciting from a textbook and then get paid huge fees for it
Take your meds
QRD?
>Yoshi I'm back, I was just browsing some threads on /pol
I am a consultant working for a tech company. I get assigned to clients (alone or in a team) to work with them and figure out how to use technology to solve problems. For example, a straighforward project involved automating a process. They used to have a wagie do X, Y, Z but I developed a tool that does it for them.
I figured. Imagine being rich and browsing this place.
Kek
Wagie don’t get paid lunch unless they’re salaried. Companies force lunches to avoid some labor hot waters. Should also be noted lunches aren’t part of your shift but on top of.. so if your shift is 8 hours ur gunna be under the cosines thumb for 9.
Pharmacist, take 1.5-2 hr lunches and nap for half of it
>I think I see OP.
OP is wearing a sweaty off yellow tee shirt by fruit of the loom he bought at Walmart slightly stretched out around the collar revealing his dried out yet somehow greasy skin, a pair of blue and white sketchers far passed their expiration date, black Hanes full length socks which absolutely disgust me, he's sporting an ill fitting pair of Wrangler jeans I thought they stopped making in the late 90s. Oh my god what it that? A My Little Pony belt buckle is being pushed to it's limits stretched out around his fat gut. I start to to break out into a sweat and as I was on the verge of tears, I saw the Pokemon Go screen on his outdated Samsung Galaxy 6. "Hey OP, I'd like to follow you home, gut you with the knife in my pocket, and play with your organs, any luck catching a rare Pokemon?" OP didn't hear me as he immediately started into a lecture about how "Jews have ruined everything."
In California they can fire you for anything, even nothing. Its called an "at will" state.
Somehow my phone didn’t reset during daylight savings time. I normally roll into work a little late but for a full week I was like an hour a half late. I missed two meetings by an hour. No one said anything to me at all. I figured it out on Friday when I snuck off to get an egg McMuffin and was pissed they weren’t serving breakfast anymore.
employer can fire you for any reason as long as it wasn't discriminatory. so yes, taking a longer lunch than you were supposed to could get you fired. nowadays, they'd probably just write you up unless you do it all the time, but they COULD fire you if they wanted to
>You will fuck your wife in front of me like that asian hoe or I'll cut you user.
It's a job you get with a college degree. Most people here have one. Or at least most people on pre-2016 Yea Forums did.
When I worked for 8 hours we got 2 15 minute paid breaks and an hour unpaid lunch. Worked in California around 2016. Been a neet since lol.
You couldn't even name the degree. Sure thing.
>wake up at 9
>shit/shower
>log in at 9:30
>see if any reports are due
>review any merchant requests
>give them ETAs (usually 2-3 days)
>play vidya
>take lunch and nap the hour
>repeat email review maybe due a data pull and idle on it
>log at 4
Data analyst pill is kino. Some days I don’t even work.
>That sounds great user, it will make a great addition to my collection.
>muh OC
why would you waste your time doing that. fucking sad bro.
Basically the early 2000s equivalent of a "diversity officer"
Not surprising, look how many threads are shilling for billionaires fucking over people?
this
my office went remote march 12 2020 and I haven't done more than 2 hours of work a day since then
plus since i'm not in leadership i dont even have to pretend to be busy
45 is a little better but pretty rare.
everywhere I've worked, half of the lunch break was spent walking to and from my car, bathroom, break room, etc. That left maybe 5 minutes to heat up food and then only like 10 minutes of an actual break lol
30 minutes unpaid, 30 minutes paid.
My entire work schedule is a break, the only non break I get is when customers interrupt my chilling.
That would be hell for everybody not currently on their break. If all my coworkers started taking hour long breaks, I'd quit
>worked at the Redbox customer support call centre when I was 19
>my whole shift revolved around the phone at my desk
>I had to punch into my shift with the phone
>if I went on a break I had to punch it in on the phone, and we only got 5 minutes of bathroom time for a 5 hour shift and it was timed and if you went over it was automatically taken out of your paycheque
>we got one 15 minute break for a 5 hour shift and again it was timed
>the motto was "the customer is always right" and "you can never hangup on the customer, even if you guys both say goodbye, the customer has the be the one to hangup"
>vast majority of our calls were from southern United States, where all the inbred fucks are
>Americans were fucking terrible to you on the phone and spoke to you like garbage
>when Americans started treating me like shit I'd pretend there was "interference" like I couldn't hear them and then hang up on them
>did this dozens and dozens of times because i was so fed up with being talked terribly too
>one day my manager, some old dyke, comes to get me and brings me into her office
>she hands me a piece of shit
>I look at it
>she tells me "this is your call log history, all those red marks beside the callers are the calls you hung up on"
>me: "uhhh whaaaatt?" I'm just trying to play stupid
>"I should fire you right now"
>she gave me a bunch of shit and vowed to keep a close eye on me
>Literally quit the job the next week
>she had security escort me out lmfao
Felt so free after quitting that job. Talk about soul sucking
I worked the same type of deal. Office job. 8-5. 15 minutes at 10, lunch at 12, 15 minutes at 3. For everyone.
I used to do this kind of work when I was a student. Worked for a small company as a service dispatcher. When I started out there was a fair amount of work but then some stuff happened and then COVID hit on top of that and their business was pretty much destroyed. The technicians gradually left. Some of the guys in the call centre left too. It got to the point when there were 2 guys working full time (one morning one evening) and a part timer (me) working 2 shifts a week. By the time I left (I found a proper job) it was so bad that there were shifts with no calls and it was """busy""" when I'd get more than one call every 1-2 hours. We only had 1 full time technician. I don't know if they kept us on out of kindness or if they used us to get COVID gibs. The owners are very nice but also pretty ruthless since the business is rough so I'd believe either explanation.
Good times though. I'd read books or watch movies. The boss didn't give us shit as long as we were paying attention to the phone. It was comfy.
>QRD?
I dunno, I see his face in a movie I haven't seen and I just get the vibe it's about him coming out as gay
If everybody is a good worker and there's enough people to get all the work done, that's fine. When your coworkers are already slackers and you're doing most of the work, that's just more weight on the back
That’s routine corporate America. You just have your drones stagger their lunches.
noone cares wagie
I’d fire my secretary if she took a long lunch. No more $10 an hour doing nothing for you bitch
learn to compartmentalize
I mean how the fuck is phone bullying real lol, just dissociate nigga
just let them be retards lol
after working remote for ~3 months I'm convinced it's a total scam. People online pretend like they're MORE efficient and somehow maintain the same if not BETTER group cohesion.
When you ask people why they prefer remote, they say shit like "oh so I can watch my kids, be able to make cook at home, answer the door, etc." which is all explicitly NOT work-related. It's rarely ever prefer remote work because it improves their job performance.
