Then he gets crucified by the grieving families who hunt him down. The episode ends with one of the angry mob getting mind-wiped and coming to the same monastery as a new acolyte.
The theological question of whether sin can stain a soul that has no memory of its past and Dourif's performance as a man sand-bagged by a past so incongruent with his present personality make it a stand-out episode outside the main story arcs.
