Do you accept subs or dubs for foreign films, and are there any dubs as good as the original language?
Do you accept subs or dubs for foreign films, and are there any dubs as good as the original language?
she's so fucking perfect bros
ive heard Cowboy Bebop is better dubbed, but havent watched either sub or dub
It is
I play all movies on mute. Talkies were a mistake.
even the director himself loved the dub. but it's a unique case. much of it is a homage to western motifs in general.
i don't mind dubs on a lot of throwaway anime though. just something to have in the background. movies is a bit different.. unless it's old kung fu theater stuff.
If it's not in American it ain't worth watching
I like subs because I like listening to foreign languages. I think there's a part of my brain that still hasn't developed from when I was a baby.
They both have their pros, I like the English dub more for fitting the aesthetic of it's western space noir setting but the Japanese dub is great too especially Jet's Japanese voice.
If you're an otaku and want to hear your favorite voice actors for fun or whatever, then fine, but refusing something because it isn't dubbed is insane and idiotic.
The only time a foreign live action film is acceptable to watch dubbed is when there was no sync audio and it's dubbed everywhere like most Italian movies before the 90s or when the setting is suppose to be an English speaking setting
>but it's a unique case
Not really. Pretty much anything with major western influences works better in English.
(Metal Gear, FMA, etc.)
What's she dubbing?
>FMA
Didn't like Ed's voice in English, immediately went back to subbed.
Into the Spider-Verse
Really? That's one of the more unique ones. Was hilarious to see Rooster Teeth's attempt to recast him.
>FMA
>ever replacing based Romi Park
there's not a bad performance in it. maybe faye is a little straightforward and could be replaced, but she's still good too.
>woman
>voicing a man
why?
Nah, the Japanese is superior. The dub is kind of faggotty and try-hard, but I guess people like that shit.
>kind of faggotty and try-hard
you don't say
Dub hating autists would lose their minds watching older italian kino. Everyone is speaking a different accent
language*
That's not dubbing, dumbass
Ed is a kid
What does this even mean?
Yes it is you fucking idiot
Yup. Original work is always better.
Explain
god damn she is cute
Plus she does this unique, slightly hoarse voice that fits the character perfectly. Not for a single second do you question it.
Older films that may not have widely available originals or may be completely different films, I don't mind watching the dubbed
No, what's tryhard is this post. The only reason you say this is because the dub is acclaimed.
Dubs for animated.
Subs otherwise, and I generally just avoid them anyway.
>dubbed anime
Cutecatcher
Subtitles are THE standard for watching foreign language films. No one who is a serious film fan watches dubs.
Nope. Subs > Dubs, always.
What if the subs are bad?
name
Lana Rhoades
The only real opportunity I had to watch dubs over subs in a live action film was Dark and I quickly switched to subs.
someone not retarded answer me
Rat catcher 2
It's Daniela Melchior
What a cute
subs is the patrician choice
pits
What is Daniela dubbing?
Into the Spider-Verse, she was Gwen in the Portuguese dub
I watch silently and dub over it with my own dialogue
Subs for almost everything with a few exceptions
>Shrek sp latin dub is just as good as the original
>anything with Will Smith is just as good in spanish dub, they have always used the same VA since Fresh Prince.
>The old Simpsons latino dub would be superior if it wasn't for some jokes getting lost in translation and the odd VA change for secondary characters in some episodes.
>Old anime latin dubs are superior to the american ones by miles and even better than some originals, including the songs
I laugh at faggots that only know english dubbed anime like dbz and their retarded made up intros.
She should voice the English Gwen too.
She looks a little like that porn star Rhoades bitch who went nuts.
How does one get into dubbing?
I'd dub her....master....track?
Does she even speak English?
what did she mean by this?
Why wouldn't she?
She's bilingual.
Dubs kill the mind. Literally.
Speaking three languages is the best vaccine for brain deceases.
I dub my own.
Cute
