when did 750 million become a flop Yea Forums?
Pic related makes 750 million at the box office
when captain marvel made about twice that on her very first solo film
because a movie like The Joker made 1 billion easily
A sequel to Doctor Strange is about to make a billion dollars. A D-list character literally no one knew about before 2017. Warner Bros crown jewel, their A-list character, his movie can't even break 800 million lmao. But that's more of a testament to how badly Snyder damaged these characters and the overall DC brand
>warner bros consider it a flop
What the hell are you talking about
The dollar has been inflated to hell and markets have grown too.
tickets were 20% more expensive than the standard price
Too many reboots, still ahead of spiderman though
no one wants to see a movie about two gay bondage suit guys fighting featuring an angry black uggo
WB trying to destroy all these characters to smite Snyder is especially funny given that Snyder always wins. Ayer Cut November 5th pass it on.
For some reason retards think theatergoing is back 100% all over the world
here's your answer, snyderfag delusion
Capeshit needs to make billions to be successful, this movie was meant to make a billion and it didn't, means Batman or capeshit in general isn't as popular as it once was
I don't think Batman was ever popular, he's usually just popular because of the Joker, and guess what? Joker drama taxi driver rip off made 1 billion dollars while being R rated, the most overpopulated countries in the world like pajeet land just love the Joker
Not to mention hollywood will never again make as much money in China as it used to
nope
Why is it back anywhere? Home theater systems are cheaper than ever and streaming services are bringing VOD releases closer and closer to the same date they premier in theaters. Hell, HBOMax had literal same day premieres for a whole year.
Cope
When you spend 5 years and 500million making and promoting a movie.
yes, you are. why don't you try explaining why Spooderman made 1.8 billion and your weeb batman didn't
because people are dumb
Because of Raimi nostalgia, that was the first spiderman movie to make more money than Aquaman btw. Batman's reboot made more than spiderman's reboot reboot vs reboot excluding countries in lockdown.
Marvel has a streak of universaly acclaimed movies, DC has Snyder and his really bad attempt at this universe, go figure. Also the movie earned a shitload of money from HBO
Jesus Christ inflation is insane
They wanted a billion dollars.
Batman is suppose to be their biggest superhero. And it couldn’t even beat Wonder Woman or Spider-Man.
Oh no, WB Shill bros. This can’t be happening.
Because Hollywood studios are run by idiots. See Sony executives thinking Sinister Six was a two billion dollar franchise.
Plus, WB probably spent a lot on marketing, merchandise, and of course some of it probably well into some suits pockets.
Because Matt Reeves wasted most of the movie’s budget on the big CGI-fest that was the third act. Which didn’t even work out since most people admit the third act was the weakest part (and that’s the ones being nice).
Matt Reeves went too crazy on the budget and should have focused on making the movie smaller scale.
We didn’t need a giant cgi flood with explosions and an army of 4channers. The movie’s last act should have focused on Batman tracking down and capturing Riddler. Focus on the detective part, not the capeshit part.
maybe they should have done something fun and worth seeing with him
This.
Third act killed the movie.
production was troubled by multiple covid shut downs and they had to shoot some stuff in a soundstage instead of on proper sets because of it, that 3rd act looks so off you can tell it was part of those shootings
Spiderman made way more
there wasn't even that much cgi
compare it to ending of any Nolan Batman films and it is significantly smaller in scale

Around the time that 3D got popular because Avatar made 3 billion dollars and then Star Wars came back and made similar numbers. The real problem though is that the 3D gimmick fucked up the budget for movies something fierce because every single piece of CGI had to be rendered twice which basically double the CGI budget for every movie instantly but it was justified on the premise that 3D movies had higher ticket prices. Then a lot of movies are distrubuted globally now which means that the marketing budget has exploded as well since you basically have to run an ad campaign in every single country you're showing it in. Again, justified because in the end the movie ends up making a lot of money and pays for the marketing. Anything below a billion for something like the batman is considered a failure, same with Star Wars.
The Batman is still in theaters
Yeah but opening weekend is like a month back now and its on streaming as well, its not going to make much more than it already has.
Critical and financial flop.
But it was way worse than The Batman. Too some degree I respect the balls-deep fanservice, But it had the worse script of all Marvel movies
Because it was made by Sony.
I just watched the movie and haven't been around before. Could someone tell me what is the Yea Forums general opinion on this one? Just wondering if I am the only one that though it was really worse than the previous two.
>Could someone tell me what is the Yea Forums general opinion on this one?
"Eh"
This.
Same as DUNC. Functional.
Depends completely on how much they spent, genius.
The movie was mediocre and word of mouth got out not to waste your time. Meanwhile Joker was good and word of mouth pushed it past one billion.
>Same as DUNC
I was bored with both movies and was stopped by the gf from getting up and leaving both times. If the best we can say about modern cinema is "functional," creativity in Hollywood is truly dead.
I wanted to see it, but didn’t because they made Catwoman an ugly skeletal mutt played by a hebephile cunt
It is the truth. Films are being created by filling in check marks on a to-do list. Hollywood is a world that is being sanitized. Fifteen years ago it was wilder and there were glimmers of genius. Today...there is no such thing unless a miracle happens.
>Homecoming: in theatres for 6 months
>The Batman: in theatres for 1 month before HBO release
Because it basically broke even so they made no money, therefore it’s a flop, you stupid nigger.
It's very frustrating because it could have been great. It's like a 5/10. Better than Marvelshit.
There is less money in it today, gaming has fucking exploded in the last decade. No producer will place his chip on a risky, non-franchise movie. Marvel makes money, movies are making money, but less people care about movies now, than in 2012 for example
What's the story here?
What was up with the last scene on the motorbikes? It added nothing, it was far too long, and it wasjust plain weird. Why didn't they end on the Joker reveal?
>Joker drama taxi driver rip off made 1 billion dollars
How? Media and Letterboxd keeps saying only white men enjoy movies like that (Taxi Driver, Joker, Drive, BR2049, Falling Down, Fight Club, etc). How the fuck did Joker do it?
can't handle visual storytelling? don't worry there's lots of other media for you to consume
If I had to choose between the motorbikes and the zoomer Joker I'd choose the motorbikes
>visual storytelling
>look they're on a bridge
>look they're on a bridge
the fuck are you talking about?
shut the fuck up faggot
See? It was so long you stopped paying attention
not an argument
>ladderfag is an iToddler
Of course.
How would you know if it's an argument or not when you didn't watch the long turgid scene?
scene on the bridge or the scene on the motorbikes?
Tbe scene on the motorbikes on the bridge
