im sorry man but the constant power scaling kills it, and goku ss3 could have ended the whole thing but he "wanted to let gohan and the others fend for themselves" shit made no sense. why the fuck is everyone retarded? why didn't gotenks kill buu? why didn't goku kill buu? why didn't buu kill everyone? just so many moments where suspension of disbelief was no longer possible. at least in the cell saga, goku couldnt beat cell, and when vegeta had the chance to do so, his arrogance was within character. and gohans insecurity until he reached SS2 was also in character. but during the buu saga they threw it all out the window man. They even ruined Gohan. It had very cool fights, and visuals. I will definitely concede that. But the characters were just plot devices.

Hot take: Fusion was a mistake and it's one of the few fatal flaws of the Buu saga. It only further increased the power difference between the Saiyans and the other Z-fighters, solidifying them as completely useless (at least Tien and Piccolo had a few moments to shine during the Androids/Cell. In Buu, only the Saiyans were relevant), and every arc since then has now had to go through the trouble of answering the question "why don't they just fuse?"
