Marvel

Be honest, when did you jump ship?

For me, it was Infinity War. A solid movie and a fitting end to the universe they had established. I'll likely watch the occasional movie if it catches my eye but I'm not concerned with an overarching narrative following IW. As much as I despise what Marvel has become it really was great seeing it at its peak and watching it all come together.

I checked out after Avengers 2, thought it was boring and was burnt on capeshit. Haven't watched another one since. Wait, actually i think me and my bros saw the Guardians with Kurt Russell in theater, i actually liked that one

I stopped giving a shit between Captain America and Avengers.
I was a big capeshit fan before the MCU, loved x-men and spider-man but by 2012 I was just too old and I could see what they were planning was dogshit.

I've still watched every single one of them though, it's not like I don't waste every other hour god sends me.

Wanted to leave at one about some fucking airport battle between 'good' and 'bad' good guys.
Then finally left after Guardians of Galaxy. Absolute dogshit closer to star wars than to superhero reality. They went full retarded with more spade shit so I'm done and not giving a fuck anymore.

I decided to jump shit after bREE's press conference, with captain female being the first one I didn't pay to see. But I went to see Ant-Man 2 and Endgame and that was it.

The only marvel movies I’ve seen are the first three X-Men, the Wolverine ones and the Blade ones.

after iron man and before avengers

>Be honest, when did you jump ship?

I have never liked a capeshit film. They are all fucking terrible. Grow the fuck up. Capeshit is peak Weimar Hollywood, produced for sōyboy redditors. The sooner capeshit and its endless reboots dies the sooner we can have REAL kino back and save cinemas from closure. We must retvrn to kino.

I mostly checked out after consuming falcon and the winter cuck. I watched like 2-3 eps of Loki and just dropped it. Still haven't seen the last spidey movie. It's crazy too because I was a big MCU fag and was looking forward to phase 4 but the quality just got so god awfully bad with the MCU shows that I just dropped the whole thing altogether.

Shortly before NWH came out, yes I didn't believe the MCU was dead after Endgame but when I saw NWH's hype train I realized that normies just don't care about the actual MCU and just want fanservice and cameos from other more beloved characters, like Tobey's Spider-man
Now with that thought I can't bring myself to watch or enjoy any MCU shit again, I just feel like I'm wasting my time with a dying franchise that most people don't care about anymore, I think it's sad because I was such a huge MCU fag, I was excited to see the future of characters like John Walker and so hyped for Moon Knight, now I don't care anymore and haven't even seen Moon Knight

Caption America 3: The Avengers 2.5

>I'm not concerned with an overarching narrative following IW.

You're not fucking special, seriously, people like you should shut the fuck up.

Were you expecting Thanos when Captain America came out, or fucking Iron Man? When Marvel was 50% dogshit, and people like me sat through Dark World without any expectations and unironically enjoyed it. Absolutely not, you were just another cuck hating on capeshit who jumped in to suck on Thanos dick because everyone else did, and then slinked back sheepishly like you always here for that, so now that he's done pumping you you're finished with Marvel.

Shut the fuck up you whore. You'll be back for God Butcher or Knull.

I made it halfway through the Ironman with Mickey Rourke in it. I watched Ant-Man and liked it. I tried watching Thor and one of the Captain America movies and I couldn't make it 15 minutes. That's the limit of my marvel experience. And I'm a comic fag, though I was more of an X-Men, Venom, Silver Surfer guy. I didn't bother watching Venom, and the Fantastic Four with Silver Surfer was unbelievably bad. It was like the opposite of who the Silver Surfer is. Only good comic films are 300, the Sin City films, and maybe Hellboy.

no time for dat goku

Age of Ultron. Last movie I paid for. Then, I saw Civil War free at my house and realized that it was awful. And I knew Age of Ultron wasn't that good. And, hell everyone knew Avengers wasn't that great, bit still, I just felt like I grew up. It was juvenile, even moreso than the source material. Craft-wise as a film, t was just so shit that I couldn't believe people around the world sang its praises. It was a surreal night. I feel like I grew up. I hope others do, too.

The Disney+ shows made me realize I wasn’t enjoying it anymore.

"For on account of a harlot one is reduced to a loaf of bread,
And an adulteress hunts for the precious life."
.

Marvel had a lot of dogshit before, that same audience will stick it through, while people like you will go back and forth "to be part of the next happening". There was a time in the MCU before Thanos, and your type were shitting on Marvel.

Fans like you don't matter.

I jumped shiped a long time ago and decided to read the comics instead. Surprisingly they're much better (at least the good runs that is)

Iron Man 2 because it’s awful and they forced MCU shit into it. The first Avengers was pretty funny though

I was there since the first Iron Man and watched every MCU movie and liked them all, but even I know it's dying now, what kept the franchise alive was normie interest and without it then there's nothing, normies are now more interest in seeing where will Spider-Man go next than whatever the fuck is going in the actual phase 4 of the MCU

I stopped giving a shit after End Game. A good narrative conclusion. By that time, I was only watching the Avengers films because I stopped giving a shit about the stand alone movies. I'm glad it's over

>when did you jump ship?
I never did, but ever since the Disney+ shows it's become more of a habitual thing to pass the time rather than something I'm excited for. Capeshit might be tiresome but there's not many good movies outside of capeshit either thesedays and I'd rather capeshit than nothing. Sure I could watch old movies, and I do that, but as time goes on the quality of what I'm left to pick from will diminish with those too.

Excelsior!

I wish death on Disney for destroying one of the greatest FG franchises of all time, Marvel vs Capcom. They already forced shit characters like Rocket Raccoon, Super Skrull, and Nova on us in 3. Completely removing the X-Men from Infinite was beyond retarded when Magneto was a beloved top tier in 2 and 3, Storm was a fan favorite and toppest tier in 2, Sentinel was toppest tier in 2 and like Storm, still high tier in 3, and Wolverine was a fan favorite top tier in 3. Gambit and Rogue were two other fan favorites dropped after 2. Such fucking bullshit. And then it's 2v2 with fucking Infinity stones? It didn't even make Evo the year it debuted, which is unheard of for even an indie FG. But for a Capcom game with the most popular IP? It's almost inconceivable. Disney has yet to find something they can't ruin.

I'm still in the ship.
I think they are mostly fun midtier blockbusters

The actual MCU audience couldn't get Shang Chi or Eternals to make actual good money, they need real normie interest like they had with Spider-Man but the thing is that normies only care about Spider-Man and specifically Tobey's Spidey, nobody gives a shit about the rest of Marvel, not after Endgame

>nobody gives a shit about the rest of Marvel, not after Endgame

This.

Them fucking with Edgar Wright and Ant-Man is what made me lose faith in them and any desire they might have had to do interesting shit. That's when it became clear that they were motivated for shooting toward the lowest common denominator.

It didn't help that Avengers 2 was so overstuffed and obviously studio-meddled. Selling like 10 different sequels.

Let's see how that translates to actual money

I still wonder what happened to the movie the first trailer was selling me.

i have zero interest in watching it and i watched the trailer out of morbid curiosity

most viewed trailers in 24hours:
1 No way home 1.8B$
2 Endgame 2,7B$
3 Infinity War 2B$
4 A GIGANTIC FLOP

I agree op.

Guys complete this brief questionnaire if you like Marvel.

A shit ton of interest = a shit ton of people that pay actual money to see it. Don't know how thats tripping you up...
Take a look at the most viewed trailers (in first 48 hours), the top ten flicks made massive amounts of money. Coincidence?

If Strange 2 is even half good Thor 4 will rake it in

That's fair, I appreciate the honesty. I'll often see things simply for the theater experience. But some things deter even me. Morbius for example, I don't know who the target audience for that was but it didn't appeal to me at all. I do enjoy that #madatmorb posters though, I get a real kick out of it.

Regardless of if you liked any of the movies up until Endgame, they were trying to create something for themselves and for a love of the genre. And a huge part of that success was the fact that they used Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, and Captain America at the center. Even when it became more and more obligatory, it was about these characters and their journey through every one of the films in the MCU, up until phase 3 with some diversion along the way that eventually led back. At its core, it was about the team, the Avengers, which gave the entire first 3 phases polarity on a grand scale to all of what they would establish. Now, their only interest is fractalizing everything between direct to streaming half-baked mini series and every single non-Avengers Marvel IP they can get their hands on, and making a big spectacle about how "women are directing this one and this one and this one" when it's literally all directionless. Loki was where I gave up but Infinity War was the last good one.

Last 2 Spider-man movies have been terrible, practically CW DC tier.

Actually I just jumped ship from DC to Marvel. Watched every movie on disney+. Some entertaining some meh as hell like age of ultron and thor. But overall relatively fun. Finished wandavision, pretty cool. Watching loki and the xmen cartoon.

Yeah the theater experience is definitely a big part of the appeal. It makes me sad that comedies are no longer big anymore because they definitely benefited from the theater experience.

I don't pretend I'm too good for capeshit like the rest of Yea Forums so I've seen most of these Marvel movies I think. I only watch the ones about characters I enjoy like Captain America and Spiderman. Spiderman no way home was fun.

Iron Man 3 was soulless
Liked everything, up through the first Avengers. Only good ones post 2012 were "untied" from the main storyline, movies like GotG and Ant-Man. Aside from that, I watched the movies that had Black Widow in them

Still havent

Moonknights series is awesome, can't wait to see the next episodes

Shang-Chi could've made money if they made it a grounded martial arts movie

I still watch them, they’re nice background on sundays when I’m cooking or doing laundry. Sometimes a cool set piece or sequence. I do remember watching the winter soldier one though and thinking “everyone’s hyping this up like some amazing movie, and it’s kind of dogshit as an action movie, and really bad as a thriller”. Capeshit gets a weird pass from alot of people due to it kind of being it’s own genre, but when you compare them to other films it all falls apart.

For the majority of their existence they were mediocre but inoffensive movies but once Disney marketing got behind them and the funko pop loving fanboyism started, it started to irk me. At some point I realized that even the ones I thought I liked, I'd almost instantly forget, and now the quality has dropped so much that I don't really care at all anymore.

I always preferred DC, FoX-Men, and Sony Spiderman shit.

How long did it take you to realize that Iron Man 1 was the best Marvel movie but even it isn't even that good in the grand scheme of things?

Cry about it when Doctor Strange and Mommy Wanda break another bil.

Have fun with Ezra.

Shang Chi had such a massive shill campaign behind it. Most mentions of it on the internet would be saying something about how it doesn't look very good, then replies started popping up all over Yea Forums and reddit that were all some variation of "I just watched it and it was really good. Its up there with Iron Man and Black Panther"

Then you actually watch it and its just a paint by numbers Marvel movie with slant eyes instead of honkeys.

Avengers 1, awful film

After Endgame, but I didn't see some movies in between, I'm gonna miss the Fox OG X-Men, I even liked the third one, I thought the magic was back with DotFP but nope.

Who are you quoting?

It's so weird watching Iron Man compared to later Marvel movies because it feels relatively grounded in reality. It had most of what would become giant tumors on the franchise including some product placement and a quippy protagonist but the opening scenes are basically him in the Middle East with U.S. armed forces, now practically a staple in Bush-era cinema which Iron Man 2008 was part of.

Endgame will probably be the last movie I actually bother watching, and even then it's just because it wraps up the story lines kind of.
I still download the new garbage just for collections sake.

Civil war
I was a 16 no friends zoomer that went with his mom to see the premier, I was one of the first ones to wait and saw a bunch of normies, only 10% of them were autists like me
Specially a girl who I knew form school, that was a turbo normie, was in the hall and said
>"I wonder what is this about"
After that I saw the movie and was shit
God I hate normies

I was keeping up with them for a bit, I fell off with them around 2014 but I thought for a while I might catch up with them at some point, but the time I decided not to bother was when I ended up seeing the Winter Soldier years later. It was fine, but it was just fine, and I remembered well hearing how it breathed new life into the MCU and it was one of their best moves and whatever else, and maybe that was all true, but it was still pretty unimpressive even considering that. I just thought that if that's what I can expect from the peaks of the franchise, then I really don't want to watch a bunch of movies I don't give a shit about just to get the context for a movie that's only going to be as good as the Winter Soldier.

Endgame was pretty much the end.
I saw Black widow, it wasnt great.
The Disney + stuff has sucked, Wanda Vision was Corney and cheesey, falcon and winter solider I couldn't finish because too much political undertones, shang chi was entertaining but also not great, Eternals also not great. Didn't bother watching Hawkeye. Moon Knights actaully the better then everything else so far. The Mysterio movie was meh, the multiverse spiderman was okay mostly just novelty.
Seems really over saturated with garbage, the core of it is gone.
They should had just tied up the lose ends and started the X-Men cinematic universe.
Loki was garbage.

take your schizo pills, no one shills on Yea Forums lmao. How would you even measure that in a corporate setting? They can't track employee output, it's fucking anonymous

I thought i saw iron man 1 but it tirns out i wa s thinking of hancock instead

For me?

Wrights the one who fucked with them taking over a decade to make a movie that was supposed to be out before the 1sr Avengers

Age of Ultron, Winter Soldier, Civil War all being dreadful in a row proved the MCU was a failed experiment.

>Guardians of the Galaxy
>Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2
>Thor Ragnarok
>Avengers Infinity War
>Avengers End Game
Everything else is trash.
Post credit scenes of Antman and Captain Marvel between IW & EG if you're making a super cut.

This, I hardly ever go back to see any MCU movie again, too many shirtless men, gays, lesbians and even though they cover all women he still has his films banned in the Muslim community

Attached: hnqrectlpleos..jpg (688x697, 203.48K)

Holy SHILL cope, yeah all those people spamming wandavision threads who disappeared ten minutes after the last episode surely were organic /teevee/ posters, fuck off SHILL

Based Saudi Arabia.

If you paid me 70k to shill on Yea Forums, why would I post literally anything? I can just say I did.

get woke go broke
bye bye russia and china box office

Jesus Christ just go one post above his post

I think it started at civil war, after that I stopped giving a shit about the ones that weren't direct sequels (so no black panther, spider man, etc)
After endgame I just quit, Iron Man was what started me on the MCU and that's what's stopping me
I'll maybe pirate Doctor Strange 2 if I head reasonable things about it, still mustering courage to watch Spider man 3, but just because there's Dafoe in it
