They're not losing subscribers because of wokeness, well, not entirely, anyway. They're losing subscribers due to lack of good licensed content and the insistence of making woke agenda pushing trash over good content to make up for the limited selection of good licensed content. Netflix can't compete with giants like HBO, who have an enormous back catalogue, or even Amazon Prime, who get huge discounts licensing stuff from content producers because almost every streaming service uses Amazon's servers.

They needed a good decade of building a back catalog of solid content before the could safely pull back on licensed content. Maybe they thought just having tons of filler and a few solid shows and movies each year would be fine, but these aren't the days of network TV and basic cable. You used to pay for big cable packages and then watch three or four channels that would have a couple good shows on primetime. No one needs to pay to support filler content anymore and there's no need to not have something good to watch whenever you want to watch something whether you get that from a service that provides quality sites and movies or just finding them on the high seas. Canceling shows was also a terrible policy when they were in desperate need of a catalog of good shows. Their metric was always "is this bringing in new subscribers right now" when they should have been asking "are we providing value to keep customers"

I find the quality content to be worth a premium price. Netflix has such a diverse, massive selection of content that it keeps my entire family entertained. Need a kids show? Boom. They have it. Need a little bit of romance to spice things up? Netflix turns up the heat. Pulse pounding action? They got that, too. Honestly it's easier to list what they don't have! My wife and I agree that Netflix is the most entertaining investment we can make for ourselves and our family.
