Hot Fuzz is a parody of 2 things: buddy cop movies, and Midsomer Murders. Check it out, it's kino (season 1 to 13 only).

In Bruges

youtube.com/watch?v=lA5njebTiZY
99% of the jokes are just "Julian Barratt plays a well-meaning loser who gets humiliated all the time" but it's pretty comfy

What's this supposed to indicate?

Attached: GAS.webm (406x319, 2.87M)

This is pure comfort. Forgotten kino

The Full Monty

youtube.com/watch?v=1Wd_xYluz_8

It's a very transparent attempt to capitalise on the Cornetto Trilogy (with elements of Animal House), but for a b-movie it's better than it has any right to be, and it's clearly made by people who actually care about what they're doing.

unbelievably shit film, but there's some amazing coomer material and it's almost worth seeing just to comprehend how crass and tasteless the jokes are.

red dwarf

boys in the blackstuff and inside no 9

I don't get it

Shaun of the dead & Spaced.
This is also excellent very good film, extremely banterous.

Hot Fuzz was filmed in Wells in Somerset, I live near there. That's Gloucester on the map.

Great movie. Pretty influential soundtrack too, it was blatantly ripped off by both Doctor Who and Mass Effect

If you're looking for comfy I'd reccomend the following. Specifically if you like Period Dramas but even if you don't I think the first two are worth watching anyway:
>The Remains of the Day
One of the two great butler films. Anthony Hopkins, Emma Thompson, Christopher Reeve. Based on Kazuo Ishiguro's nobel prize winning book, follows an English butler as he attempts to reconcile stoic duty toward his work and the love of his life. A true certified kino although quite depressing.

>Gosford Park
Another certified kino starring Maggie Smith, Clive Owen, Michael Gambon, Charles Dance. Follows the lives of both servants and the upper classes equally, great dialogue and kind of a murder mystery but that's not really the focus of it.

>Howards End
Antony Hopkins, Emma Thompson, Helena Bonham Carter. Based on E.M Forsters 1910 novel of the same name and part of the merchant-ivory trilogy (james merchant wrote call me by your name many years later). Well worth a watch and I think a very comfy movie. IF you like it you can also watch A Room with a View and A Passage to India which are by the same author and the same merchant ivory productions.

Movies that are not as good but also quite comfy and worth a watch in similar genres:
>Sense and Sensibility (1995) Romance
>Pride and Prejudice (2005) Romance
>Amazing Grace (2006) Non-Romance Period Drama
>Hamlet (1996)
>Much Ado About Nothing (1993)
>Othello (1995)

Gloucestershire is here, dingus

what is the point of this?

Dude's complaining that the movie was filmed in a completely different part of the country from where it was set, but that's not true: the county the movie is set in is right next to the majority of the filming locations.
Basically is a non-problem

I too am very upset by the north.
Everything and everyone north of the m4 is a bunch of fags.

Cope

He clearly knows that, and was also talking about the same red highlighted county in

Americans going autistic because they think the character's long-ass train trip means the story is set far from London, when it's just a product of the UK's shit trains.

If this is the movie I think it is, at least 5% of the jokes were "THE ISLE OF MAN/MANX" riffing.

You had me at Bob Hoskins.

>Hamlet (1996)
user... EVERYONE dies in Hamlet. That is decidedly uncomfy.

HELLO MISTER GAS MAN

Sure, but why is it spelled like that when its pronounced Glosstersheer? Are you French now?

Omg it’s the laxey wheel!!

>that trigger discipline

It might just be a good thing that Bongs don't get to have guns.

>now

Don't be silly, Americans have no idea or concept of where things are or how far they are from each other in Bongistan. We also can't read maps, we just let them teach our kids.

What am I in for?

Other way around. You don't need to learn about trigger discipline when you're never going to handle firearms.

Peak comfy

It's what it is user, I remember when it was originally posted by one of your countrymen.

I know that's what I said. Wells is around here, in Somerset.

Hey, bro. I think your swastika might be retarded.

Uh huh this is what yuropoors teach thier kids

A rather nonviolent Wednesday.

The French drop consonants not vowels. And our place names are spelled weird because the names are from Middle English, Old English, or earlier languages like Latin and the spelling hasn't been updated to reflect changes in pronunciation.

Considering all the state approved roaming rape gangs that picture is more likely than you think.

Whichever way you throw me I will stand. It’s what the nazis were trying to articulate but failed

I'm after some transatlantic BANTZ, user, not a linguistic history lesson. Thanks, though. Learning is fun, too.

"comfy" is not how I would describe it, but it's the most realistic depiction of life in the English countryside

>The French drop consonants not vowels
We do both. Tons of French words end in a silent E.

sorry senpai, let me try again:

>yo dawg, are you still seething about that David Mitchell video from 10 years ago where he said Americans are pretending to be French by saying "erb"?

If I were you, i'd get in that fuckin' car and i'd get out of here man. I'd gather them goonies and get whatever you've got comin' mate... 'cause i'm gonna fucking hit you all.

m-ds are asleep, post great British music

youtube.com/watch?v=J-fX0UbpZls

When he spikes them with lsd it’s just about as kino as a film can be

That's a regional thing. Our country is so large that different parts are different. BOOM, now who's the history teacher, eh Nigel?
