While I might be able to see that, to a degree, Rey still comes out of things looking rosy, they still tore down all the classic characters and 'subverted' them, and they even had to kill off the last Skywaker in a silly way just to make sure she could get her princess kiss but not be tied to no man.
In The Batman, Bruce is shown to be genuinely competent and heroic if still a little green (while the diverse cast watch on in awe at the end), and in WW Steve is generally shown to be Captain America without the shield or serum, and goes out with grace as a genuine hero. The situations aren't remotely comparable. I mean, fuck Disney Wars is still at it, look at what they've done to Boba most recently. Image very related.

I think with batman you have a lot of range since he's vaguely a criminal in his own way. And since the whole lore of Bruce Wayne is the conflict of losing his parents and not using lethal force against criminals, he's allowed to make "mistakes" from time to time, in fact that's basically his story and character, and since it can be left up to the audience to determine what is a mistake and what isn't, they can then sneak a lot of things in.
This is literally what makes both him and Superman two of the best story characters of all time, because you can literally throw these two into any given situation and then explore hypothetical scenarios that can go any which way since no one really knows what would happen in the real world if there was an actual Batman or Superman.
And so did Captain Marvel, so has the female Doctor, etc, and it doesn't matter. The discussion was that some writers have been clever enough to appeal to/trick the commies, because frankly they aren't as smart as they think they are, by telling traditional stories with a very thin (and subverted, even) woke varnish, such as Selina's line about Bruce Wayne, when our very white hero is stood in front of her, and goes on to save the day as she watches in awe with wet panties, or in WW where Steve Trevor is very much the real hero while Diana is playing catch up and the muscle of the group, and he even gets to take her cherry before his heroic sacrifice and she goes on to pine after him for a century.

It's actually one of the biggest issue with Batman, as often comes up in discussion. Take a genuine hardened vigilante like the Punisher or Moon Knight or even fucking Huntress of Red Hood; the movie would have been over in an hour. Penguin would have been executed. Falcone would have been executed, and it would have derailed Riddlers entire plan and sent him on an autistic rage, that likely would have revealed him sooner or fast tracked the finale, and the brawl with the Riddler goons would have been over in seconds because they would have been riddled with bullets and no epic brawl forced by Batman's no guns stance would have occurred.

The entire point of the movie, by the way, was Bruce realizing that punitive justice isn't enough to fix systemic problems. By the end of the movie he realizes that only by providing hope for a better future can things really change for the best.

Thomas Wayne was a non practicing Episcopalian, Martha Wayne was a devout Irish Catholic. Bruce was almost certainly baptized Catholic, in one of the comics he and Robin walk past a Catholic church during a service and he laments not attending Mass more often while making the sign of the cross.
