i'm sorry but imagine trying to explain to 2018 you, at the close of Ranskoor, that s11 was as cohesive as the era was going to get. That the companions never get more foregrounded, or the production less messy.

Despite misgivings at the time, s11 feels like a high point to me now. The same issues remain but the show lacks that freshness Jodie's first season had.

Psychic dust that is bonded to an old woman and takes shapes out of her memory. Particularly a dog that scared her when she was a little girl and stayed in her memory as a giant monster. The twist is that some guest characters are also dust.

Overall, I have this big idea about two seasons arc that involves being that is opposed to normal flow of time and tries to corrupt time by giving people ideas.
First season is about a man who learned how to alter people's past so they'd be dead in the present and got hit by it himself creating an isolated alternate timeline that is that dragged into normal time and poisons it.
Second season is about Doctor somehow getting tricked into becoming a dictator of a lost human colony and a host to aforementioned being, but actually tricks that being into getting erased by meeting his younger self.

I didn't enjoy S11 much at the time but in hindsight its total lack of an arc allowed it to have a few half-decent stories, whereas (apart from Nikola Tesla's Night Terrors) every good episode in S12&13 is an incomplete story because they're all tied to ill-conceived arcs.

This is one of the most pathetic things I've ever seen. It's the equivalent of an aged and haggard Brendan Fraser making a montage of his old movie roles "reacting" to his newest weight gains.
