>first saw every episode of Friends about 15 years ago because I'm not a child >Watching YT clips right now >Comments are full of 14 year olds who are seeing it for the first time on Netflix >literally all of them hate Ross
Rossbros what the FUCK Why do zoomers hate /ourboy/? It makes me fucking angry
Was there ever a point where Ross wasn't the worst character on the show? I watched Friends when it was in first-run and I don't know anyone who actually liked Ross.
Brayden Cox
It's been a while but wasn't he cucked by basically every woman he went out with
Ryan Nguyen
>wasn't the worst character on the show Phoebe is easily the worst character on the show. Not hot, full of herself, and never wrong.
Ross was a stupid ass sometimes but he got more shit than he deserved. Like the episode trying to get ready, he just wants his hooligan friends and gf to get their shit together and get dressed to go to his speech or award ceremony or whatever. They just can't get ready in time and are fucking around or being indecisive and when he finally loses it suddenly he is le a jerk They were on a break
He cucked Rachel for a while before he found out she wasn't over him. He had a decent love life besides her. I think it was just once where an ex-husband seduced his then-girlfriend (black) and he left. Carol definitely cucked him, what with her and Susan being the actual worst characters on the show.
>Phoebe is easily the worst character on the show. Not hot, full of herself, and never wrong. Eh, I can't agree, but I stan Phoebe. Yes, Phoebe is full of misplaced self-confidence, but Lisa Kudrow did such a good job of portraying the sadness at the heart of her character that she's incredibly sympathetic. Phoebe's mom committed suicide when she was a kid, her twin sister is a vicious sociopath who uses her as a scapegoat, and her retreat into this childish, New Age hippie dippie persona is clearly a way of protecting herself from all the pain and trauma she's gone through, and Kudrow does a great job of conveying that (as much as you can in a comedy series).
Ross, on the other hand, is just a douchebag. He comes from a well-off, very functional family, where he was the favored child. He has a good career and a good life. His problems all stem from him being a self-centered, self-involved, and arrogant douchebag. The worst thing to ever happen to him is his wife came out as a lesbian, which is hardly traumatic, but he acts like he's God's only whipping boy, and it's frankly pathetic.
Also, Phoebe was rarely front and center in the show. She had a few showcase episodes and subplots, but was never given the same level of focus as Ross. Ross's jackassery is always front and center, and it's impossible not to notice how everything bad that happens to Ross is Ross's fault.
He's the worst of the Friends by far.
Dylan Clark

Ross gets dunked on more than any of the friends combined, he IS the whipping boy, which is why his arrogance and douche qualities become endearing.
Logan Lopez
>I stan Phoebe stopped reading there, fuck off zoomer
Brayden Gonzalez
>His problems all stem from him being a self-centered, self-involved, and arrogant douchebag. The show spends a lot of time making fun of him for his flaws, much like how it makes fun of the other characters. He got really, really messed-up when his first girlfriend and later wife went behind his back and decided to cheat on him repeatedly without telling him. They acknowledge how this event had a really profound effect on his psyche and his attitude towards later relationships. He's not arrogant so much as a know-it-all similar to his sister, but the show gives him a lot of shit for it (rightfully so at times). There are numerous examples that disprove his selfishness (him ditching TV appearance to help his ex go to the hospital, buying the dog for Joey when he went bankrupt, helping the gang and his ex right after his breakup when they got stranded, being willing to tolerate his ex-wife's bitch of a life-partner and encouraging them to get married etc.) He also doesn't have enough self-esteem to be a douchebag. He's extremely geeky and has a poor fashion sense and taste in hobbies according to all his friends.
Hunter Jones
There's only so much the pity party can really cover for. Pheobe is a terrible person, she bullied and robbed other kids, and as an adult she's generally shitty and holier-than-thou.
Ross is a bit of a dick and takes things too far occasionally, but he's generally the most reasonable friend when he isn't sperging out for laughs.
Lucas Nelson
The whiny jew is /ourguy/? Not the chad Joey or the irl shitposter Chandler?
Robert Roberts
Tbf they make fun of Phoebe's moral stances too. Like the good deed thing, when she tries to return the money she got accidentally and they gave her shit when she lost the gang a ton of money in the lottery episode. Chandler IS my favorite character. His best run was, like, up until he got with Monica and got married.
Dominic Taylor
He was the worst non-Pheobe character for most of the run until the last few seasons, when the writers became bored with the character and let Schwimmer off the leash. Then he became based.
Matthew James
Joey is a manchild who somehow gets dumber as the series goes on, and Chandler becomes a boring pussy-whipped househusband.
Matthew Young
>Ignores how genuinely atrocious Monica gets in the later seasons. For shame.
Blake Rodriguez
Yeah, totally, man. I watched Friends when it originally aired from 1994 to 2004 because I'm a zoomer. I was born in third season and watch it from ages 0 to 7. Totally. Moron.
Carson Turner
Nice blog faggot are you calling yourself a friends hipster since you saw it on this reruns instead of Netflix?
Charles Powell
Im in the middle of a full on rewatch for the 3rd or 4th time and he is the worst besides Rachel. For having a PhD, he isn't very smart and makes multiple bad life choices. He a jewy neurotic whiner and borderlines autism. He is also a sappy romantic pussy rivaled only by S6+ Chandler
Austin Edwards
There are few instances is where WAS the worst character on the show. Phoebe is worse in pretty much every episode and storyline. She's arrogant, stupid, and selfish. Rachel is selfish. Joey is stupid and obnoxious. Monica, Chandler, and Ross are the only tolerable characters, really. And Ross is the second most stable one of those three. He was honest, intelligent, and reliable throughout the series. Can't say that about any other character on the show.
Grayson Sanders
Joey is unintelliegent (like reddit) and Chandler's dad is a transwoman (which he supports)
Gavin Baker
Why would you drag all of your friends to some boring ass speech/award thing? He was an un-self aware asshole
Eli Jenkins
>first saw episode of friends 15 years ago ZOOMER LEAVE
Brayden Moore
He's a gay crossdresser (played by a woman) and Chandler hated him for it. He barely had a functioning relationship with his mom but he only made amends with his dad when he was getting married.
Colton Davis
Post S5 Chandler is a simp though
Isaac Watson
Chandler is based no doubt but Ross is the onions boy you love to hate
Dylan Clark
These Yeah you're right to stan phoebe I was straight bussin no cap sksksksksks my comment was big yikes spill the tea fellow adult sheeeeesh
Gavin Miller
The first two seasons Ross is the worst character. His character is depressing and miserable. He gets a bit better after he breaks up with Julie and starts dating Rachel, but the first Rachel arc where he is pretty much "the jealous boyfriend" made him insufferable again. He starts on the road to becoming top tier when he starts dating Emily, and fully takes off after he doesn't divorce Rachel after Vegas and starts to go full psycho that sort of lasts the rest of the series. He's a case where flanderization made his character better.
Josiah Richardson
Because he's proud of an achievement, which you clearly have no idea what that's like. And even if they didn't want to go to the one thing he asked them to, they could have all just said no instead of not following through with their commitment and nearly sabotaging his evening.
Cameron Rodriguez
After a recent rewatch, its really hard to watch S8,9 and 10. All the characters are just a drag and the story lines suck.
Caleb Smith
He's like George Constanza without the jewery or the charm. Thats why he sucks.
Connor Ward
I know what its like, I am just humble. I would at most have my girlfriend come (not that you would know what that is like).
Jack Robinson
Ross was pretty fun when he was losing his shit after the London trip. His flaws only make him getting shit on funnier. I don't look for sitcom characters to be people I would hang out with in real life.
Henry Powell
CHEAT ON ME ILL CHEAT ON U SMELL LIKE PEPPERMINTS IM COUNTING BENJAMINS
Jace Barnes
>road to becoming top tier when he starts dating Emily uh no. He was a retarded to marry her. He barely knew her for months and they got married. Yet another example of how unstable and stupid Ross is. He then was a douchebag and made his wedding a "Destination Wedding" and simped Emily's every want and need for their wedding which he then promptly fucked up and considered ditching his best friends or her smelly English Bong cunt.
Samuel Gutierrez
ross is mostly straight man phoebe is worse because shes lolsorandum joey is dumb jokes chandler is witty jokes monica is cheap fat/neurotic jokes rachel is whatever, another straight man mostly I guess I havent watched the show in 15+ years but that's the gist I think
Jeremiah Hughes
I have no idea who you are or your family history but I can't tell you how badly I want to murder you right now.
Jaxson Green
Chandler in the bath/the Halloween party was my favorite season 8, Science Boy/Manny was my favorite season 9 and Stripper/Ross's Tan was my favorite season 10.
David Perez
> I don't look for sitcom characters to be people I would hang out with in real life. Spot on. Movies too. I hate when people say they didn't like a movie because "I didn't like any of the characters"..... yeah so? Its nice to watch a movie or a show with shitty people sometimes.
William Morgan
But sitcoms kinda rely on you liking at least one of the characters, tho.
Jacob Garcia
Ross' Tan is a classic but S9 and 10 are almost unwatchable for me.
Caleb Davis
I liked those episodes because they were funny :)
Josiah Butler
>larping and ignoring the main point because you know you're wrong case closed, officer
James Kelly
Oh sure, Ross was a great buttmonkey, but the reason he's such a great buttmonkey is because he's so unsympathetic. It's fun to watch a self-involved douchebag get his comeuppance.
That's why episodes like "The One With All The Resolutions," where Ross wears the leather pants to disastrous consequence, are so funny. The entire situation arises because Ross is trying to be "cool" and he creates his own misery. If he was a likeable character, that episode wouldn't be hilarious, but since Ross is an asshole, it's fun watching him get hoist on his own petard.
Robert Davis
that's what you sound like you fucking newfag
Adam Lopez
How the hell can you not like Joey?
Leo Rogers
I can't relate to this show because I don't have a normal life with friends. It's a bizarre and weird concept to me
Xavier Roberts
Not him, but like modern Homer Simpson, his stupidity is flanderized to a point it's infuriating rather than funny.
Brody Williams
Over-the-top dumbness isn't funny. I don't have a problem with Joey as a person but he wasn't charming, productive, or reliable at all.
Justin Collins
>phoebe is worse because shes lolsorandum See, I think this is kind of sexist. Phoebe is the female version of Joey. They're both airheads, but it's only held against Phoebe.
Carter Baker
>accusing someone of a LARP You ran our of arguments
Point is, its self centered to invite all of your friends to a boring speech about your work. Simple as that
Jack Price
He was originally intended to be a John Stamos, handsome but narcissistic character, but Matt Leblanc kinda decided that it'd be better to just have him be an idiot.
Hunter Lewis
and I said >And even if they didn't want to go to the one thing he asked them to, they could have all just said no instead of not following through with their commitment and nearly sabotaging his evening. and you have no response
Nathaniel Clark
I dislike later seasons Ross. He's a shouty, whiny idiot.
Jackson Jenkins
I'm describing how the writers use them for jokes not their characters. phoebe is simply not funny
Jose Carter
Phoebe IS the worst.
Jose Lewis
I can tell that you don't have friends or much social experience at all. Sometimes you can't just say "no" to friends. It looks bad and it might hurt their feelings. Especially sensitive and self-centered ones that need "support" from their friends. Its easier to just say yes and hate every minute of it.
Robert Cooper
They weren't really sabotaging the event. Joey and Chandler were pretty much just having fun, Phoebe was being a retard but you can't blame her for it, Monica was being a bigger retard for obsessing over Tom Selleck and Rachel wanted to look hot when she'd be there for him. Plus, it got resolved anyway.
Chase Morgan
the geller siblings were the best ones in friends
rachel could be an asshole sometimes.
joey was a retard and a hypocrite after a couple of seasons
phoebe was a woke commie. paul rudd was too good for her
and candler wasnt a bad guy, but his sarcasm sucked
Cooper Reed
Don't say stan then, faggot.
William Carter
Joey is objectively the best friend. He's the most selfless, genuinely loves his friends and will sacrifice his own dignity and happiness for them.
>Willing to look like an idiot to hide Monica and Chandler's relationship >Sees Ross kissing Charlie, momentarily upset before realizing he's happy for Ross and smiling >When Kathy says goodbye to Chandler he is reduced to tears and instantly want Chandler out of the box, not even mad, just wants his friend to be happy even if it means being with his former girlfriend >Can't makeout with Rachel because he truly sees her as just a friend >Won't rub it in to Phoebe that she stood him up for David because he's hurt that his friend can't be with the only guy she's even been crazy for >Likes to cuddle with Ross because it makes for the best naps, no homo
