This was the most interesting take on Superman they could’ve done. Why did people hate these movies?

Never seen it but I assume some kike turned it into blatant political propaganda.

Zack Snyder has questionable takes on writing and morality and instead of exploring cool worldbuilding it turns into a punchfest

because the script was bad. It's not hard to understand.

This. Hack Snyder hasn't made a good movie since 300 and Dawn of the Dead, and those were basically aided by the source materials. He got cocky with Watchmen, fucked up, and hasn't been able to own up to it since.

This scene is the epitome of Zack Snyder
>fantastic visuals
>excellent setup for Superman to defend himself and justify his POV
>everyone nailing their performances
And then
>Superman has zero lines and an explosion destroys the place

>Zack Snyder has questionable takes on writing and morality
Explain.

No

Because mass immigration is neo-colonialist invasion.

Because the point was never about Superman being able to explain his side. The whole thing was a sham. It was a ploy to shame Superman on an international stage.

Yes, I'm aware the actual point of the scene was infinitely less interesting than what it could have been

What could have been? Superman doing courthouse drama?

Yes that's cooler than explosions and sad superman

You fundamentally don't understand superman
There is no grimdark version of Superman that will ever be anything but teenage horseshit

Grant Morrison must fundamentally not understand Superman as well, since he loved BvS.

>Why did people hate these movies?
Because they were really bad.

Because entertaining is more important than interesting.

They could've had both. Give superman a chance to explain his case and while he and everyone is distracted BOOM.

I thought the idea was interesting. The execution less so. Either way I'm not sure DCfags would really accept it. The thing with DC superheroes is they're pretty much perfect little snowflakes. Superman being so controversial pretty ruins that image for purists. It would work in like the MCU since Marvel heroes don't always have perfect stances on everything.

How in the hell did you get that I wanted a grimdark Superman from me wanting Superman to speak his POV

>Never seen it but I assume some kike turned it into blatant political propaganda.
It may shock you but that couldn't be further from the truth. It's a surprisingly well considered examination of the nature of power, the role of news media, government, and the costs of optimism vs cynical pragmatism. There's a lot to chew on if you don't let your eyes glaze over from the bombastic action.

>Snyder
>Fantastic visuals
Lel

He doesn't you pleb

He literally does. He and Snyder were even talking about working on the next JL movies together.

>This was the most interesting take on Superman they could’ve done.
It's better than Marvel but it's still creatively constrained jew trash

"people" didn't hate them...they were just too based (christian iconigraphy, strong white males) for leftists to cope with

Ah yes, as opposed to the WOCs of Marvel: Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Spider-Man, and Star Lord.

>creatively constrained
The worst part is you're wrong, this was Zack Snyder's vision through and through - my favorite part was the cut Jon Stewart scene, the film probably would've gotten shat on even more if that was in the theatrical cut.
Zack Snyder is just incapable of making good movies.

>my favorite part was the cut Jon Stewart scene, the film probably would've gotten shat on even more if that was in the theatrical cut.
Why? Specially because originally it would be Hal Jordan and John Stewart in the same scene.

>This was the most interesting take on Superman they could’ve done
No. The comic they were inspired by did it 1000x better. That's why DC just needs to do short arcs and disregard continuity. Marvel will always beat them in a CU but get completely mogged in one-offs.

>No. The comic they were inspired by did it 1000x better.
No, it didn't.
BvS is better than The Dark Knight Returns. There, i said it. TDKR is nothing but Death Wish with Batman. That's it.

Brandon Routh, Henry Cavill and Tyler Hoechlin are all illegitimate Supermen. Even with the studio meddling and creative differences in WB if they listened to Christopher Reeve back in 2004 we wouldn't be in this situation now.
>If you watch that episode, he [Christopher Reeve] is so commanding given his situation. He can’t move yet he is so compelling. All that added to Clark’s emotion about what was happening. I remember in the end he says to me, “I’m really glad they chose you to be the next Superman.” I was like, “Well, they didn’t.” That’s when Brandon [Routh] had gotten the role [in the 2006 film Superman Returns]. And he said, “Well they should have.” I get chills thinking about that. It was so cool to feel like he had put the sword on my shoulders and knighted me somehow. It was very special.
Welling is Superman.

to begin with,Cavill. The guy is a complete charisma void. Supes is supposed to be a very gentle fella, not this stern and never smiling version that this handlet brings on

Superman should play the Kryptonite card.

No. Check 'em:

Nah. TDKR is overrated.

>most interesting
>it wasn't interesting at all

this but unironically, I think Cavill is a shit Superman

Nice videogame cutscene

BvS isn't rated.

Attached: 32f.jpg (251x242, 10.29K)

No you idiot, it could have been Mr Smith goes to Washington meets superman. There's nothing grimdark about that.

Both Smallville and Superdad are far more interesting takes. The shit BvS pretended to do was handled better in fucking Lois & Clark.

Attached: 1636281781956.jpg (1075x1670, 208.39K)

Because they handled it poorly

Correct.

>not BvS
also visually maybe, otherwise it's like the opposite of Murderman

>I think if you go back and watch that movie now, a lot of it holds up really beautifully. I think the third act of that movie maybe falls victim to what a lot of giant tentpole movies fall victim to
next time you should bother to read the whole thing lol

i could do this all day bro

>Murderman

Grant Morrison wrote one of the best Superman iterations.

I don't get it.
Why are mere humans attempting to tell an alien who's civilization is millions of years advanced to theirs, and the fact that he's stronger and faster than all of them combined, what to do?

Alien invasions aren't going to be like X-com. They're going to be like Warhammer. Earth is simply going to get glassed, or if they need something from this planet, they'll let us toil for it and then glass it. Or they'll do the shit they did in The Three Body Problem and prevent us from furthering physics research, because again, millions of years ahead in tech. You only need to imagine what 100 years ago to now was like for a piss poor comparison.

Cope, murderer

Yes, and Grant Morrison loved Zack Snyder's take on Superman in BvS. This was when Morrison was rebooting Superman comics for DC during 2011 and wanted to explore the original idea of Superman as a social champion and outcast.

Bruce Timm also loves Zack Snyder take on Superman.

Attached: 1619521263560.jpg (927x926, 147.85K)

But New 52 was a disaster.

But Morrison's run on Action Comics was great.

Examples?

>Batfag is a dumb faggot
orly

Dan Jurgens, that recently revitalized Superman comics after the 2011 reboot with the idea of the old Superman coming back with him and Lois Lane having a child but needing to live in secrecy, which served as the basis for the Superman & Lois TV show, also is a big fan of Zack Snyder's take on Superman.

Attached: 1622133182576.jpg (728x1024, 90.44K)

Grant Morrison's idea was to explore Superman history as a single story but in modern times. So his run explore the idea of a young Superman who's angry and cocky thus he went out to fight social injustice by wrecking shit and putting fear into government officials, which is something akin to the original take on Superman, and then had this young Superman grow as a character as he learns more about his kryptonian heritage and face ever the more increasing weird shit, copying several out there concepts akin to the 50/60s take on the character. There was also some time-travel and dimensional shit with imps and such. It was a lot of fun.

Cavill was fine imo

superman is the only interesting take on superman, elsewise you're referencing nothing

This one?

Attached: 81gh5Ck-caL.jpg (1034x1500, 287.19K)

Nah they're both fun stories

How many pounds of curry do you eat per week?

Yup. Give it a read. If you're not that big of a purist and have an open mind on more out there ideas you'll like the comic.

shut up chud

I fucking love MoS and BvS. ZSJL is nice too, but too conventional of a superhero teamup movie.

Attached: 1621980032645.jpg (2371x4095, 697.14K)

Is a disaster.

Ding ding ding

>muh big world
why did snyder always tried to show superman like a faggot

No, it isn't.
The New 52 reboot was a disaster but that was a mess by the editorial because they decided to reboot all of their characters in a single swoop and launch 52 new comics meant to recreate all their characters without any fucking coordination whatsoever. So several writers/artists were left in the dark what they were allowed to do. Specially when they were meant to be on the same page on everything.
But Morrison's reboot of Superman was still a great read.
