I actually liked this better than I expected after the sluggish start. Aside from managing to not feel like enough and too much at the same time, it worked very well. Were it not for the overplayed quality of both Batman and capeshit generally, it'd probably be much more highly regarded.

Patison couldnt carry this movie. He only got the brooding part, but lacked the intensity of batman. His bruce persona was laughable.

Batman has been drugged during a fight before and come out the winner. Pepper spray isn't going to do shit to him, and the cowl probably has built in goggles or something anyway.

Also, Batman probably built up an immunity to capsaicin somehow. Pic related.
