In summary, it's kinda tryhard, it looks good, action is good, music is good, if it was shorter, more honest, more violent, less overacted, and slightly better written for more natural dialog, it would've been better.

It just looks ordinary. You compare it to old classic action movies and the difference is just jarring. The way everything was shot and directed just feels lacking in innovation, dynamic or communication.

A shitty detective movie with a guy wearing a cape and a face mask with little pointy ears. The story doesn't make any sense at all, it's boring and how the fuck don't you launch when you see a grown up wearing that kind of custume. What bothered me the most is that they could arrest him multiple times, remove his mask, the fag can't stop fainting, but no, they all behave like it's ok to dress in a cat looking leather custome. A major appeal of a Batman film is watching the real Bruce Wayne come out when he puts the mask on.

If there’s no duality between the characters then there’s no point, so in turn your film just becomes a brooding 3 hour slog. One could argue that the spectacle of watching Bruce Wayne putting on a socialite act is just as enticing as watching Batman punch people.

Some of the best scenes in the Nolan trilogy are Bruce Wayne moments: him joining the models swimming at the restaurant “jacuzzi”, buying the restaurant, flaunting his wealth when he donates to Harvey’s campaign, taking the entire ballet on a yacht trip just to flex on Rachel — all of these scenes paced brilliantly with Batman moments.

In The Batman (2022), it’s a constant brooding affair. This is presented as a “new” take on Batman, but ultimately new isn’t always better.

I mean, I did like the cinematography and set pieces design, music was good too and the film really did feel like a slowburn detective story at times... but some of the dialogue lines were cringy af

Not enough Bruce Wayne. Literally no flashy playboy persona or him showing up at a charity event scene. Even when he took off his suit he was still in brooding Batman mode, which was weak. You could argue that he is always Batman and Bruce Wayne is his alter ego I guess. But the world's greatest detective could've played up the character to throw people off as a distraction. Like imagine him showing up as Bruce, all smiles and waving to the cameras and shit at a fucking funeral, making him look like a total jackass to everyone, when really he's there to do reconnaissance and get closer to Falcone. They could have had him done more, but instead he just stood there autistically.

Zoomer's who barely remember The Dark Knight expected this one to be another one of those when Batman talks in a funny voice, they can't focus for shit so they missed half the story while starring into their Iphones telling how boring the movie is because there is not a Joke every 3 minutes.

It's getting good reviews and is well received which is the one solitary requirement for it have "gone wrong" according to tv. Once this is pointed out we'll see the, "actually no it's because" replies, as if even the best movies ever made are immune to someone blatantly set on nitpicking a product of an inherently subjective medium a la cinema sins bullshit. Next we'll see the, "we'll let's see your favorite movies" posts which of course will lead to nothing except the same exact argument but with different movies, and finally this will continue up to about 250 replies of nothing but 2 or 3 anons arguing in tight circles. This accounts for 90% of the posts on this board at any given time.
So let's begin, ahem, it was a good movie that struggled with pacing in the 3rd act which was quite forgivable.

It perfectly catered to society's retarded standards. It is getting acclaimed because it is visually pretty and pseudo-intellectual (edgy, gritty, with a twisted sense of shallow depth)

Meanwhile you have stupid-ass shit in this movie like Riddler singing Ave Maria for no reason except for "lol XD im cuhrayzee" and a question mark forming in his coffee cup with no reasonable real world explanation
