I may be forgetting some key details, since its been almost a decade now, but basically in the wake of the shooting Jones said that literally no one died at Sandy Hook, it was all faked, and the bodies and grieving parents you saw on the news were all just paid actors. I think the narrative was that school shootings are faked by the media to try and ruin the reputation of poor innocent american firearms so that we would pass gun control laws.

Which, as you might notice immediately, is both completely insane and also really easy to disprove because you have a bunch of dead fucking kids on your hands. But on top of that, because of the crazy conspiracy theory bullshit people started calling up and stalking the families of the victims to try and convincing/threatening them to make them "drop the act" and come clean about how they are just faking having their kid be senselessly murdered.
