any good tv shows about knights?
Any good tv shows about knights?
Not really.
No
Not one
Theyre all garbage
What happens if you have to piss
metal?
nah. that shit is for gay men
leather is where's it's at
the maille over the groin is a seperate flap
unhook it and then fiddle around with your braie
just a reminder that any samurai would fucking destroy some faggot knight
Wear your mask.
Leather armor? What is this, DnD?
This is horrifically bad costuming. Look at everything they are wearing, it's all just random. There is no hint of their culture having a mode of dress other than random dark scraps stitched together. It's supposed to be consistent. A culture has an idea for how a shirt or armor is made. A culture is people conforming to a standard. The costuming fails to show that they are one people.
Normies are too stupid an indoctrinated to appreciate historical things. They can't accept historical customs, beliefs or fashion at face value. They want it to be dudes in leather pants with 21st century values and beliefs running around doing nonsensical things.
thats called a bevor
very important to protect the neck
Diversity. The woman looks more masculine than all the men combined.
In rl she'd be blowing the enemy jacking two simultaneously while dping other two. Three hundred other waiting nearby.
The microscopic arrows will go right through it.
How about a show like Poldark, about a knight and their manor?
you shit and piss in your armor if you have to
>microscopic arrows
wut
It's all about the shrink ray, bud.
I dont think we've ever seen any depiction, real or exaggerated, of what a knights manor and demesne would be like
>pregnant armour
wut
does it have pregnant nudity?
Guédelon is kino
wut
Knightfall.
Don't know, not seen it. Just find the pregnant armor ridiculous
>why am I being attacked by this man I have insulted
yeah no people in that crow could grab him
a very unrealistic depiction of a jew
why didnt he scream in pain as he was stabbing him?
>literally stabbed in the back
okay so we've got a setting, and a lady of the manor , but what is the story?
pogrom time
the knight was the best fighter in Deadliest Warrior: The Game
I thought they lived in the castle
No.
Shit in that case they must be the best warriors of all time
It's set in stone
>but what is the story?
A knight returns from the Fourth Crusade and tries to live with the knowledge of what he has done. He lies to his wife about having freed the Holy Land, but the secret comes out when a war buddy comes to visit and boasts the treasures of the greeks that he looted.
Some did but there were more knights than castles.
>crusaders were actually... LE BAD
bit trite I feel
The Anarchy, the first English civil war that everyone forgets about.
Fought for a whopping 15 years from 1138 to 1153 after the death of Henry I between his nephew Stephen and daughter Matilda.
Henry I only legitimate son died leaving no issue and he himself was too old to produce more heirs, he made his lords swear loyalty his his daughter but 12th century Anglo-Normans weren't about to take orders from a woman and so their oaths were buried with him.
Ended in a stalemate with Stephen agreeing to accept Matildas son his heir. That was Henry II so not a bad ending.
The story could be a Norman knight returning from Italy (yeah the Normans were there for a long time too and that is also something that never gets seen in tv or film) to claim his brothers estate after his death in battle.
Lots of political intrigue navigating the different factions, muh modern political relevance in the Anglo-Normans rejecting Matilda, class conflict in the Anglo-Saxons being ruled over by Normans, etc
A knights residence would be a fortified manor house
Initially made of wood, then later stone
That is essentially a castle, on a smaller scale
The Catalan Company going to Byzantine could be a good subject
Nigger the 4th crusade was the one where the crusaders decided not to bother with the holy land and simply looted (Christian) Constantinople
>christian
>eastern orthodox
Oh, okay
But being in the 12th century would mean people are only wearing maille
No plate :(
>Everything I did was for this family, always for the family!
>I had to loot and pillage
Kingdom of Heaven
>tv shows
Literally what squires are for. Drinking your piss
Kys weeb
it's appropriate because they didn't have culture
Game of Thrones
Knights trained in their armor
they trained in wrestling, knife fighting, sword fighting, poleaxe fighting, and jousting
reconstructions of bodies uncovered at battlefield mass burials have determined that they had the build comparable to a modern day rugby player
Armour in this show is immaculate after S1 where Jorah fights the savage and BTFOs his face
that guy in front is clearly a noble too
Whats this in the red circle? How does it work?
Actually based, but no plate armor, though. Italian wars would be kino
those are buckles
they hold the fauld to the curaiss
Leather straps with buckles. Hold the oieces together. Have you never seen a leather belt? It works the same..
the thing about the Italian wars is they were all fought by the mercenary Condottiori too
I need pictures...
The King
Those helmets look ridiculous
OPs picture explains it all
get Ospreys Warrior #124: Teutonic Knight, 1190-1561
it explains what all the numbered items are in OPs picture,
this is also an Osprey, not sure of the book but if you find it it will also explain
>swords against plate
why Hollywood why
they used poleaxes
the sword was the _side arm_
It's a duel, of course they use swords/daggers
