The first three are comfy. 4 is retarded but has the best memes. After that they go downhill because they get grimdark and you realize none of the main actors are any good.

They're fun. The nonpractical effects in all of them have aged (expectedly) poorly, but the early character stuff and the ambience of the sets work really well.

To be fair the best thing about the books were the descriptions of their daily lives and the wizarding world in particular. The beginning of 4 is great in that regard because the World Cup actually takes up several chapters were she goes into detail describing how everything is organized. The overarching plot was just something to move things along, at least for me.
