They still use Final Cut Pro from what I've seen so if they had to switch to a newer program it would be Premier, I can't understand any reason to use Resolve unless your system was completely based around a DeVinci suite workflow.

Jay did the editing until Mike convinced him to take a sabbatical, during which time Mike reallocated a lot of Jay’s duties. Mike argued that Jay was getting burnt out but many suspect this was just another attempt at weakening Jay’s grip, with a view to removing him from production altogether. Rich has proved a useful idiot in this regard. Jay was incandescent when he returned from his cruise to find Rich doing the editing. Ironically, this weakened the Jay-Rich faction and only played further into Mike’s hands.

You can't collaborate easily if you have two editors working with different software. You also have to maintain two sets of on-screen graphics assets, one for each editing suite.

In my last job, GIMP was all we had access to. The IT guy was the only man in the building with any level of technical know how. It was always embarrassing having to send documents to other companies as GIMPs.

Both of them edit, but mostly work individually in different episodes (until recently every episode indicated the editor in the closing credits). Each has their own telltales, but I'd say Jay's episodes are better edited, specially the comedy bits.

Mike is intensely self-indulgent. He used to host open mic nights for the crew as a way to “unwind” after completing a project. These were mandatory and Beardfat would have to work the door, asking the others for a ticket that Mike would email them and tell them to print off. He wouldn’t even let them use the company printer to do it despite using it himself to print jokes from websites. One time, Rich was allegedly sent home for failing to print his ticket AND then reprimanded for not attending. Rumor has it that Aidsmoby started drinking at these comedy shows.

It's a newer software, and the company developing it is still putting in some effort unlike Adobe.

So the soundcloud leak was legit right? The council decision splitting the flagship shows between Jay and Mike must have been finalised. The big question now is views I guess. If Jay can get his view count up to Mike's level then it definitely gives him grounds to review last year's decision on ownership. His issue is that Mike has the starpower of Rich to pad out his viewership whereas Jay is reliant on Josh - the poor man's Rich. He'll need to get Josh a seat on the council if he's ever going to take the reins from Mike. Bet Mike is wishing Rich wasn't just "three fifths of a member" as per the contract he wrote, because Rich could prove pivotal in future votes. Jay is the would-be usurper, Mike the aging King and Rich has been promoted from court jester to kingmaker.
