Lolita is legitimately the great american novel. the second half of the book is basically a love letter to the american countryside

It's been a while since I read it but I really don't think so.
The part where he describes how he'd lay in his room all day perfectly still listening to the sounds Lolita made as she moved throughout the house, like a spider feeling vibrations in its web, was really deliciously written, and there's much more.
