The first one I saw was very tiny and was under 4mb and if you slowed it down you could almost watch it. Laughed the entire 2 minutes.

I feel that Shaolin Soccer was better in every way.

it would be a timeless classic without the crap CG scenes, I wish they would re-release it with modern touch ups

I remember getting so excited when Spike TV had their annual kung-fu movie marathon.

if they did you'd get weird new color correction and other unnecessary changes
the touchups would also almost inevitably look more detailed but just as fake

Kung Fu Hustle is kino AF.

I love this movie. Extremely entertaining and has a great 3rd act.

It would've been better if the last scene where he gets together with the deaf girl took place in the slums with all the slum dwellers working together to rebuild it. The characters like buck tooth jane get lots of screen time then just disappear from the movie.

What I don't get in both Hustle and Soccer, is the scene where they just randomly

in both they had years of training in kung fu before the movie. shaolin soccer played it better because they were just purposefully living in denial of it trying to forget about kung fu, but in hustle he'd read the super technique manual and actually trained himself in it for years and then just decided it was rubbish if i remember correctly

In Shaolin Soccer they were all Shaolin monks who left their temple and regained their Kung Fu. In Kung Fu Hustle, he knew the Buddha Palm technique from a manual an old guy sold him when he was a kid, plus he has one in a million latent chi that let's him become a master instantly, if activated by a chi expert. He is implied to be this way because he is the lost son of Romeo and Juliet, the top two Kung Fu masters under Beast

Based. I have a soft spot for Jet Li's movies in general. Hero, Dragon Gate Inn, Fist of Legend, The Swordsman (BEHOLD THE EAST IS BURNING READ) and of course Once Upon a Time in Chine are all enjoyable as hell.
It's such a shame that in Hollywood he got type cast as just another grumpy/stoic action star while Jackie Chan gets to be the one for the action comedy.

I bought KFH just to check it out and it became one of my all-time favorite movies. One of those I rarely remember to rewatch but every time I do, it's a treat.
