>Christian Bale will reportedly star in MEGALOPOLIS, Francis Ford Coppola’s passion project that has been in development since the 1990s. Cate Blanchett is also set to star, with Zendaya, Michelle Pfeiffer, Jessica Lange, Jon Voight, James Caan, Forest Whitaker and Nicolas Cage in talks for various roles. Bale will replace Oscar Isaac, who was initially approached for the role, but declined for unknown reasons.
>MEGALOPOLIS follows Serge Catalan, a brilliant but volatile entrepreneur who endeavors to build a futuristic city known as “Megalopolis”, leading to an intense rivalry with affluent politician Frank Cicero, which is only furthered by Serge’s affair with Cicero’s outspoken daughter Julia.
>The project has been in development hell for years due to its notoriously dense script, which runs for 200 pages and follows nearly 100 characters for the span of 15 years, but now appears to be moving forward, with Coppola personally investing $120M to secure its production.
both coppola and bale and very based so i expect top tier kino from this based
Hudson Jackson
Unironically Twixt. That movie had a unique tone to it, somewhere between faux David Lynch to cheesy horror to personal catharsis (it helps if you know that one of Coppola's children drowned) that stuck with me.

I don't know how else to describe it but you're completely correct. It's like if I see George Clooney in a movie I can't remove him from the role, I'm looking at George Clooney acting. Anything he does is lowered by his presence. Same with Zendaya. Oh look, there's Zendaya. I'm not looking at [character], I'm looking at Zendaya.
But then there's top tier kino actors like the classique Paul Dano or Cage who can completely transform a role and feel like the character. They actually feel believable no matter what because they give a shit
>But then there's top tier kino actors like the classique Paul Dano or Cage who can completely transform a role and feel like the character. exactly well said

>Another remake *yawn*
Nice trolling, have a (You) on me, kid.

>Francis Ford Coppola’s passion project that has been in development since the 1990s. Cate Blanchett is also set to star holy fucking ki- >with Zendaya what?
I doubt this is going to be good considering how weak Coppola became after the 70s but I have to give him respect for at least demonstrating some kind of artistic integrity today by financing his own passion project
I doubt Zendaya is playing Julia/Bale's love interest. That would probably be Cate Blanchett. Zendaya probably has a much smaller role. And as annoying and flat as she is, I'm not going to not see a movie this interesting, with a cast this kino, the dream project Coppola's been working on for thirty years, so devoted he'll start from scratch after the screenplay was stolen and finance out of pocket, throw all that out just because I don't like one cast member. Megaopolis is too big for that.

yeh it worked out well for his buddy george lucas, right?
Of course it was. But he's done some good stuff since. Rumble Fish. Peggy Sue Got Married, and Dracula all stand out.
Julian Williams
The script is available online. Zendaya is definitely playing the Britney Spears-esque young popstar who becomes one of Bale's many lovers and spirals into drug addiction over the course of the movie. She has a fairly sizeable role.
Levi Mitchell
You read the script? Who do you think Cage is playing?
Nathaniel Ross
whats the plotpoint?
Zachary Turner
Cage said he only has a cameo, so there's a variety of business associates of Bale he could be playing.
I would guess either Voight or Caan is playing Cicero, and the one is playing Cicero's business partner and Bale's uncle Gene Hamilton. Lange is probably Hamilton's wife (who was also fucking Bale) and who he thinks killed her, resulting in him conspiring with Cicero to destroy Bale. Pfeiffer might be Cicero's wife, and Whitaker could be the lawyer.

This is a massive copepost to hate on Zendaya. You know fuck all about her personality so you are pretending that she is just herself when she is playing a role which is ironic. She plays a role so well that you think it's just herself. You're biased user.
Christian Harris
>t. zendaya talking like a mush mouthed dumb bitch just like in her 'roles'
