I don't participate in these threads but I am happy they are being kept alive. I feel comfortable when I see people being cultured.
Watched Le Samourai yesterday. It was pretty good. Is this the film taht made fedoras cool?

I hate films

okay

Watched this one the other day too.
Can someone recommend similar film that is under two hours? I need something for a train ride. So not much dialogue is preferred.

Just watch silent films

Cabiria and La Strada are early Fellini films and are more in the vein of neorealism. His post La Dolce Vita work, starting with 8 1/2 is more exuberant and baroque. The baroque period is much much better but filters more people overall. You should check out La Dolce Vita, it's a transitional episodic work and quite accessible.

Purple noon, with alain Delon.
L'Eclisse with alain Delon (1962).
I like both more than the Samourai.

What should I watch for the weekend?
>Aparajito
>Duck Soup
>GREED (4h cut)
>Gance's Napoleon

Upgrade
Pig
The Wandering Earth
Edge Of Tomorrow
Prospect
King Arthur Legend Of The Sword
Crank 1
Crank 2
Dredd

When did you realize this?

Old movies are better than new movies.

I was watching a film and I thought to myself "films fucking suck" and I've hated them since.

Damn........

Samurai Kids (1993) is the best film ever made, nothing else comes close

Napoleon

Alright.

It's the film deep down you truly want to watch... watch Greed afterwards

Will try to.

80 years later and Mizguchi's 'Legend of the 47 Ronin' is still the best version.
How did he do it?

It's still quite clunky. Not one of his best films.

Reminder out of courtesy of based effortposter

Did any of you actually watch Napoleon?

You're right, I'd say Roma, La Dolce Vita, Amarcord, and City of Women are far better jumping on points for Fellini.

Yes

Today I am going to watch la jetée. Then I'm going to start watching films from the french charts.

>Pietro Marcello’s SCARLET, blending “music, history and folklore, bordering on magical realism,” will open the 54th Directors’ Fortnight
Exciting. I thought it'll go to Venice after it wasn't in the comp.

Very rarely.

How's the discord going?

>of all the women in Rus, he chooses the retarded mute

The only redpill he's dropping is that Asian men are demented.

One of the few films I forgot I ever watched.
Poorly I hope, its put a dent in our posting numbers.

What did he mean by Inland Empire?

Will never forget reading his book 'On Directing Film', one of the biggest pieces of shit I've ever read.
Love his theater work and some of his screenplays though.

Dude like it's weird and shiet

>starting with 8 1/2 is more exuberant and baroque.
You sound like such a faggot. You should check out La Dolce Vita anonarino! Yes, Yea Forums had to tell me to watch this one, not every useless pleb list on the internet.

All shit

'American right = right wing.' Talentless hack bellowing like a thoughtless useless civillian. No wonder his best film is proto-incel garbage. This is a man who has never penetrated a woman at the core in his life.

what does /film/ think of Yorgos Lanthimos?
