Tranya looks very tasty.

Riker wasn't a science officer.

Why didn't he just get some corrective surgery to be less ugly?

Geezers complain about it A LOT, but JJ Trek looks much better than the TOS films.
RIP in peace, Anton Yelchin.

when he isn't using awful lighting and after he toned down the lens flare

After seeing Monsters I feel this was supposed to be the Halloween episode, but post-production took longer than expected and made it seem out of place.

Also deep cut with Agent Wells being a reference to Designated Survivor, where that Agent Wells was played by Maggie Q.

Damn, I just thought it was him playing Ducane who was on a Wells class ship.

show with no future with a dying guy they literally wheel out for no reason
>the actual fun one
show they can't talk about and frankly know deep down it's not quite what they wanted it to be.

>the actual fun one
But there is no fun show there.

Picard Season 2, the search for Romulan mommy gf.
Who's enjoying it so far?

>expects people to pat them on the back
>pats themselves on the back
>expects a kick in the ass

i.4cdn.org/wsg/1649994395123.webm

I honestly didn't think it could possibly get any worse, and then it did. El Aurians are a race of bartenders, Picard didn't recognize his own dad, and the big reveal is that Picard's Mom is just mentally ill. Fucking hell.

Attached: boom.webm (1440x1080, 2.85M)

I was but then it's been dragging with cliffhanger and cliffhanger and cliffhanger and no resolution to anything because it all gets stuffed into the last two episodes of the season like season 1 and the recent Discovery season.
I'm so fucking tired of this serialized stuff, they can't do it properly and you come away from each episode feeling unfufilled. The only way to watch these shows is binging it when it's finished really.

Attached: 1630364586563.jpg (1200x903, 111.56K)

>Picard didn't recognize his own dad
I thought turning him into a robot was supposed to cure his space dementia?

Attached: boom.webm (480x360, 1.58M)

I'll take cartoons that have moments of actual trek vs live action shit content that is so bad its entirely unique.

Everything that's happened so far after the opener feels like it could have been condensed into one episode.
It kind of reminds me of season 5 expanse where they managed to stretch a day shoot on one set with naomi into like four episodes.

Attached: ill-take-the-con.webm (720x576, 2.89M)

>Picard's Mom is just mentally ill
I don't mind this because it at least swerves the "Picard's dad was a wife beater" thing everyone assumed.
I bet the twist is that he let her out when she was having a psychotic episode, she killed his dad and was committed for the rest of her life so Picard lived in denial and blamed dad instead of himself for it.
I still like his mom though.

Attached: 1623564116924.jpg (772x965, 76.03K)

Early in his visit with Dr Baltar, like the first 20 minutes I was thinking this was just one long advertisement for donepezil.
I kept waiting for "brought to you by pfizer" to come up.

The ultimate plot is Picard is a 90 year old incel who is now literally a robot and deeply hates women.
Maybe they do know their audience better than they get credit for.

Everyone assumed that because Picard is just Patrick Stewart at this point and they couldn't make it THAT obvious. Just a little tweak was all they needed. It does look like Picard is going to let her out and she'll do something bad, but what that is is anyone's guess. Murder is might be a bit much, but something along those lines.

Maybe she just molests him.

I'm sure covid and budget are part of the reason but it fucking sucks and I'm seeing more and more complaints about it on twitter and reddit.

When was the last time anyone even saw Q, what did he have like three minutes total screen time?

its been sucking for much longer than that

I audibly laughed.

Oh definitely but even people who have enjoyed for one reason or another are getting fatigued.

Since 1968, bucko.

Attached: Fred Freiberger's Star Trek.jpg (646x416, 93.27K)

I literally felt like I was getting dementia after the first 20 minutes of ep7.
It was like a day in the life of Patrick Stewart simulation.
Ooooh my god, who are you, whooo am I, Where are we? What time is lunch?

>even people who have enjoyed for one reason or another are getting fat

Last time we saw Q he was giving Brent Spiner the "cure" for his daughter, I think. It's been a while.

There was another scene after the cure stops working where Q tells him it's simple, we kill the picard.

Attached: 1627682054975.png (1920x800, 1.66M)

It's like a bad two parter where the cast play a bunch of different characters in some holodeck bullshit or time travel fuckery where they don't tell you the big reveal till the last 10 minutes.

it's so fucking bad

how did they look at the trainwreck they created in S1 and not say "maybe let's hire some people who know how to write stories and dialogue"

Attached: 1619789321776.jpg (958x775, 324.9K)

If I have to hear his cranky squeaky old man tantrum voice and watch him screw up his face in that pained expression one more time I don't know if I can take it.

Live action NuTrek is AWESOME if you follow these simple instructions.

Watch the first episode of the season, in full.
Watch the "Last week on" segment of the rest of the episodes.
Watch the season finale episode in its entirety.
Rinse and repeat next season.

It takes about two hours to watch a season that way.
t. an honest NuTrek fan.

Attached: Borg Queen approves.jpg (360x360, 35.33K)

patrick stewart wears adult diapers

thats just the cgi leftovers though, its sort of nice to cut out all the "actors" but it's not good either

The one that made me blink this week was Rios waxing poetic about how he wishes Picard was his daddy.
I was like nigga what? You've been on like one half baked adventure with this cranky old bastard and you feel so close to him you wish he was your dad.
Or when they did the same with Jerati a couple episodes ago.

One thing they didn't make very clear was that it had been 18 months since the end of season 1 and the start of 2.
But yeah it's a very quick attachment. Rios did the same thing with his previous substitute daddy though.

It sums up the story well without having to slog through all the soap opera drama. I'm not joking.

Attached: PICARD - Interesting.jpg (1300x800, 140K)

Mexican Han Solo is the only character on Picard I can tolerate.

Even Still, Rios was on the Stargazer getting his career back in shape. What was he driving Picard to his dementia treatments every day after catch up class at the academy?
Seems like he would be kinda busy in that time for bonding with dear old Jean Luc.

I hope Strange New Worlds is episodic. Just by virtue of that alone it'll be a big improvement to not come away from each episode feeling like a ruined handjob

Attached: 1632240760184.gif (480x270, 903.59K)

He's likable, and the best actor on the show.
It's too bad it's wasted on a show this terrible.

I enjoyed the scene when Picard introduced his crew to Laris/Tallin/ProtoLaris.

Attached: PIC 2x05 Good Crew.webm (1920x804, 2.96M)

I know. Allison Pill too. She's been in some pretty good stuff.

the story is shit too and the finale never has anything to do with it

How to say you frequent /gif/ without saying it.

Attached: Barclay.jpg (567x541, 40.38K)

does anyone actually think next episode is going to reveal that it's the same guy from temporal investigations, and what in the good fuck are you doing Admiral Picard, we thought you knew better than this for fuck sake.

Attached: file.png (700x550, 432.36K)

It's not like the reapers can suddenly appear over 2024 earth... right?

Attached: 1632808367940.jpg (1280x969, 226.72K)

It provides closure. They should spend more on writers and less on bridge flamethrowers, desu.

Attached: DUUUCK!.gif (480x200, 3.76M)

flamethrowers on writers

I hope Jerati wins at this point, just assimilate the whole fucking planet and sing showtunes.
The end.

GIVE THIS MAN A FIVE YEAR CONTRACT!

that flashback takes place in what, 2320 at the latest? 60 years after Kirk was doing his thing, and mental health isn't a physically treatable thing? EVEN with the "dads a luddite" angle? Come on.

Discovery season 4 actually wrapped up in a satisfying if expected fashion with proper closure, it's just there were 9 or 10 episodes of filler to get to that point.

Attached: 1621390066491.jpg (2560x1068, 290.82K)

Queen Agnes and the Borg Street Boys.jpg

this idea makes too much sense and requires the writers to know he played a time travel cop in Voyager and wasn't just the non time travel cop from 12 monkeys which this is more likely a reference too.

Hateful 8 but with deep space 9 characters

Agreed.

They had all but cured mental illness by then, yes. See Whom Gods Destroy.

Attached: orion-exterminator.webm (1200x900, 2.72M)

There have been cases of untreatable brain problems in Trek before. They had to lock Lon Suder in his quarters, no pill to cure being a psychopath. TOS had a few people that were off their rocker all suspiciously in positions of authority.
