ITT: Dangerous things not utilized enough in television & film

Thousands of people die in grain silos each year (mostly in China) to the point where it's illegal to not have safety systems installed in most Western countries. Are dangerous af

Check out The dressmaker.

This happened in the film Australia I think

The Witness
Deadly Blessing

A Quiet Place

cant you just eat your way out?

they could just eat all the grain instead of drowning in it

Chinese can't eat that much, Americans can but they choose death over vegetables
Very sad

lol how can you not escape a bunch of grain? they're tiny little things you can just move out of the way

Weight.

>what is quicksand

lol i thought this was the crystal maze for a second.

>pulls you in and kills you
Any kind of machining and machine shops are dangerous af. I cant think of any movies other than The Machinist (obviously) that used them

Livestock/farms maybe?
Cows kill more people per year than sharks. Horses are up there as well. Farm stuff in general is dangerous

The mangler

They kill a guy with a grain silo in Witness.

A lot less dangerous than people think. Grain is much, *much* more dangerous than quicksand.

lol what a joke you just climb out essentially, you're compressing on your way out. Same as getting out of snow

Happened in a quiet place.

If the dust gets out of control, there can be a massive fucking explosion. Grains are all highly flammable, thats why you gain calories from eating it.

Is this a Delta P thread?

kek

In one of the Saw movies they trap some guy in a grain silo and drop pitchforks and shit on him. Pretty kino.

I can’t even tell if posters are actually this dumb or trolling anymore.

heh

>mostly in china
Don't tell me they just leave the bodies in there.

Doesn't that "flavor" the grain/rice?

Attached: worried anime girl.jpg (510x1024, 63.25K)

Yeah but I'm cutting right now and this grain doesn't fit my macros.

I really want to see you all obese american mfs just explode one day

I think you are thinking of flour breh

>Livestock/burden animals kill more than elusive aquatic predators
Yea no shit, think about how often a person is facing a cow compared to a shark. Bullshit stat just like the coconut one - which is actually more impressive

free protein
why are you complaining about

There are voids and cavities in the grain.
You can climb into a grain silo and jump on the top layer and it may seem rock solid, and you'll get the impression that you're standing on a pillar of compacted grain. It's like standing on a beach, you don't expect all the grain to suddenly give away.
And then suddenly it does, and you're buried meters bellow the grain.

Why would you ever need to be in a grain silo with flowing grain?

There's no need to, people just do it because it's alluring.

OH GOD IM LOSING MY MIND

>mostly in china
dont (hundreds of) thousands of people die from basic stuff like escalators and elevators in china

Attached: file.png (480x360, 227.41K)

No.
People on this site will call out glowies as soon as they say Tom Cruise was right to scream at people for not wearing masks, but no one bats an eye at any of the outrageous anti-china lies.

1 social credit added to your account

they mostly die from being run over/set on fire in traffic accidents or turned into mulch in industrial accidents but yeah
I'm surprised China doesn't have CCTV in grain silos, when that eventually happens /gif/ will be very happy

grainkino

its a "developing" nation with a billion and a half people, there is no wonder there are countless examples for accidents like that and OP

Imagine being a country so rich, it can waste grain by turning it into a land-locked beach for vacationers.

nigger they have 1.4 billion people
and virtually zero regulatory laws
you really think all those videos of escalators eating people or elevators just going down are all a CIA psyop?
theyre still the most powerful country on earth but its not a very nice place to live

remember the episode of the police thing the london one? where they are investigating themselves
internal affairs or whatever but not american
what was it called?
anyway some hispital patient and then is it keely whores? anyway some guy in a mask like a balaclava is in there trting to murder this patient in icu or whatever, the ppatuient us a witness to the crime or something and if the patient comes areound obviously could pount the finger so the police this lady i think its keely whores might not be, anyway this guy in a black balaclava and that you know hitman type guy, assasin, and he fucking pushes this cop out the fucking window and she splats on the ground outside they are like 3rd or 4th floor? and its in the uk right so we count from ground floor being the ground and 1 up is 1st, not he way you americans do it so you understand she fell from quite a height (i say fell i mean she was pushed of course)
anyway point is if you go in a hotel even a travellodge which is a kind of budget hotel, building regulations in public you cant open the windows can you of course not, it would be a liability. so for them to have that in a hospital.
you know guy in a wheelchair whatever could just roll right out or something.
madness, should never have happened.
can't remember the programme sorry it was london police corruption.
ogh was it line of duty?
the girl was tidy as well what a wastte.

My father died in Corn. It's in-Grained in my psyche

DELTA Delta delta...

You disrespect our fallen Brothers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the popcorn mines. You had to be there. The corn was angry that day my friend.

Stop drinking lad

My ass explodes semi regularly

Why would the grain bridge like that

Accidents with elevators and escalators kill about 30 people in the USA each year.
How many times have you seen a Chinese person get eaten by an escalator? As much as 30?
Now, maybe it does happen more often in China than anywhere else, I can believe that. Their middle class is growing fast so they need to rapidly build the kind of bullshit that middle class people need, like robotic staircases.
Is it enough that 100s of thousands of people are getting eaten by them each year like user claimed? I don't think so.

someone post the video with the pidgeons

I love that one

>When she give the bad succ and you get torn in half while pinned under tons of water pressure.

Some producer's fetish which is why it appeared everywhere in the 90s but has disappeared from pop culture in the past decade or so.

can any industrial incident animation enjoyers point me to a youtube video i watched years ago?
it was about an electrical injury, specifically something to do with the guy removed the spring from an isolator so when he locked it off the output didn't stay grounded and then he got too close and it arced over onto him. he was taking parts out of one to get another one online.
i think but not sure: it happened in australia, it was a mine but it was all above ground, like processing or something. the isolators were shown in little brick shed type things?
whole thing was animated showing them muck around with the isolators turning them off testing them etc.
thanks!

as a trap

>how do diamonds work?
LATTICES

It doesn't go bad from touching it you retard. It gets used.

>Doesn't that "flavor" the grain/rice?
Yes, is called söylent green.

Moisture.

grain demons

Oh my god, it actually does exist.

Well there wouldn't have been a cavity or hollow until grain got removed from the bottom.
On the top layer it can stick together with moisture. Probably some mechanical effects too but I'd just be speculating. But basically it clumps together and stays like that when you start removing grain from under it.

What the fuck do you think flour is made out of, stupid? Grains. The grain itself is flammable, the flour form if it (dust) is more flammable. When you move large amounts of grain around, you naturally create dust (flour).

KEEP YOUR HEAD ABOVE THE CORN

Corn Pop is a bad dude.

Baboons

Attached: baboon.jpg (1280x720, 131.19K)

Gnomes clean the grain silo over night and they user the grain bridges, but they are only graded for the average-sized gnome to use. People trust gnome engineering and erroneously think they can use the grain bridge. Very sad.

If you've ever tried to chew on wheat, you'll notice after a few minutes the insoluble gluten turns into chewing gum

You don't die in quicksand.

I think I remember somebody getting stuck in the water tank in that film, can't remember if they got stuck in the grain as well

Attached: 1601061839135.webm (368x360, 1.9M)

that's how they make gum? I sometimes share gum with my friends, but I don't want to chew something that's been in a stranger's mouth already.

Attached: white apu.png (200x151, 33.08K)

I assume moisture makes it clump? Idk

I'm scared to ask, what's the coconut one?

SHAKMAAA

Your body temperature rises when you digest, its an endothermic reaction. Grain silos are notoriously explosive.

This thing from the car junkyard in “Sexy Cat” 1973, used sparingly but was a great finale just hazard in a fight, and wasn’t the only thing as part of the killer’s death, but a spear gun spear through the stomach before falling into it and being semi offscreen cut in half was, good shit. Also that farming thing that Just straight up perfirates the ground but was used in a guy in “The Police are blundering in the dark” 1975 after the guy got shot a bit and fell into it’s path, I like how long they lingered on it even though it was just slight rotational or something and him having some spikes in the stomach, but they have him dying and screaming in agony for 20 seconds in it before finally letting him die, that’s how you make something seemingly a rather less brutal way of death to think about vs a wood chipper brutal in execution

HAHA mind if I repost this?

Guys don't toast any bread with little grains still in it, your toaster will explode

a coconut contains more liquid than an identical volume of water

SHAKMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

To get to the other side.

I'm trying, brother, I'm trying

SHAKMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

You can have it my friend and here's an updoot as well

lol the one at the end there just goes for it

coconuts falling on people's heads kills more worldwide than traffic accidents

fun thread guys, keep it up
