Male and female nudity should be fully normalized and accepted in cinema. The nude human form is a ubiquitous subject in visual art going back centuries and there is no reason why cinema should shy away from it. Peter Greenaway has the right attitude, he started as a painter and maintained a painter's attitude towards nudity in his movies. Most of his movies have scenes of full frontal nudity that aren't technically "necessary" to the plot but still make sense for their own sake. Nudity shouldn't have to be justified in art, it is a part of the human experience and should be as uncontroversial as being clothed.
