I forgot to add, I did finally see that scene in my teens when I had a DVD double pack of 1 and 2 to replace my VHSes of them, so that scene took me by surprise.
I do feel like the skinned bodies scene was darkened a bit, but that might have just been VHS quality. You can see the corpses pretty clearly on blu-ray as I saw it last time (a fine remaster of 1 and 2, not like that horrible DNR version)

I definitely should add, they don't just cut nudity and sex. I also had a Saudi VHS of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, and no joke, they cut any scenes of Bruce and Andrea kissing, or rather the screen freezes during any shots of it with the audio still playing and then continues like nothing happens. Still no cuts to the more violent or scary scenes of that film. Priorities.

Well they did film the original in Mexico so I guess it was pretty clammy. I imagine it was part of the aesthetic too. In the behind the scenes of Predator 2 you see the actors constantly being sprayed with water before takes.

Ironically actually, in Predator 1 the jungle because of the time of year actually got really cold during the day and they needed heat lamps on set to keep the actors warm. Then there was Montezuma's Revenge for everyone but Arnie and McTiernan but that's another story.
