that SHIT SUCKS

but who sucks less?

mike

mike but I don't like rifftrax

Both were fun. Joel is more laid back and comfy, Mike is a better joke writer, and both brought good things to the show. Post MST3K, on the other hand, Mike wins and it's not even a contest. Joel bluepilled hard, and the Netflix seasons are an embarrassment

For me, it’s Rich Evans

Not as hard as your mom.

Joel.

Joel loves cheesy bad movies. His MST3K is a celebration of them.

Mike Hates them. His MST3K is made to tear them apart.

How can you forget Jonah and Emily?

Joel

It's a Crow board.

I would need to remember them first

Mike is wayyyy funnier

Mike is funny
Joel is stoned
it's a tossup

>Joel without Mike
KTMA
Cinematic Titanic
MST3k Reboot

>Mike without Joel
The golden age of MST3k
RiffTrax
The Film Crew

No debate senpai

Joel is like hanging out and watching a bad movie with a friend. Mike is like watching a stand up comedian do a routine based around a bad movie. They're different experiences.

Yes.

How indeed

hot take: Bill's Crow > Trace's Crow

>5 times the budget of classic MST3k
>Production design is somehow worse than what a couple of guys from Minnesota can make with literal trash over the course of a weekend
I wonder who pocketed the millions of dollars that were clearly skimmed from the budget of this garbage

Trace was better at doing funny voices ("Industry! Science and technology!"), but Bill's characterisation was funnier.

true and he was definitely a better puppeteer

joel

Yea Forums is a Joike board.

Based

i liked when crow would say something campy/gay to detract from a villain

youtu.be/bOBibhv7Q_8?t=1042

I prefer Joel and the villains in the earlier years.
Pearl was a terrible character, and tainted the Mike years.

Mike all the way.

mike was good in

youtu.be/mvuOHxsq3h4

Saw Emily at MST3K live. She's fine.
Jonah is a Hollywood phony, and he isn't funny.

based.

the storyline stuff was lame but last few seasons when pearl is in the castle with brain guy and bobo I actually liked the characters

Yea Forums is a mike board

Am I the only one that likes it on Netflix but can't stand the 90s version? It's so fucking cheesy and cheap-looking

i just can't even with zoomers sometimes

>i just can't even

Attached: 7a1.png (640x730, 205.25K)

Even Joel prefers Mike.

You're literally a subhuman

Way to confirm that analog-era MST3K worship is just boomers clinging to their receding past

way to confirm that zoomers will happily gulp up the corporate regurgitation of something people used to love

Totally this, but the opposite.

True

The Netflix seasons are unwatchable due to the fact that the writers won't let the jokes breathe, opting for a zoomer ZOOM ZOOM pace, so even if something is funny, you can't laugh at it because they're already in the middle of their next forced joke.
Also Patton killed his wife.

joel.

i saw him on the last whatever mts3k tour they did two years ago, and he was still really funny.

its kind of a shame the new cast of mts3k netflix was so hit and miss, watching joel riff live reminded me of why i fell in love with mts3k in the first place.

mike is great though and rifftrax is also very good, despite it declining largely in quality in the past two years or so, in part to them just getting really really old, and in larger part to them shoveling off shit tons of movies to bridget and mary jo, who are fine but just not as good at all as mike, kevin, and bill.

>joel.
>i saw him on the last whatever mts3k tour they did two years ago, and he was still really funny.
The 30th anniversary one?
I saw him a year before in Seattle in 2017 and he was hilarious and the jokes were told at the old speed. Shame I won't ever see that movie (some English superhero flick, if you know the name, please, please tell me) because of copyright.

>Found Pearl sketches amusing
>When I hear her voice in a rifftrax I shut it off immediately
What's up with that?

user, is Joel really done? :(

netflix isn't the worst, it has funny parts, but the original is much comfier and to me is a lot funnier. im particular to joel because his sense of humor is pretty unique. the side skits were waaaaaay better with the original too.

it was called "The Great Cheesy Movie Circus Tour". i actually saw him on their last step in maine. it was joel, a new crow and servo, and a new girl. the new girl wasn't bad, but crow was great.

it actually made me think the newest mts3k wouldn't be that bad. i guess it still hasn't come out yet. but obviously joel was the highlight.

he said he was done with 'live' riffing at the show, but i doubt thats completely true. i mean 30 years ago or whatever he said he was done with mts3k, so who knows.

Thank You! I've been wanting to know that name since 2017....thank you, thank you, thank you! :D

>it was called "The Great Cheesy Movie Circus Tour". i actually saw him on their last step in maine. it was joel, a new crow and servo, and a new girl. the new girl wasn't bad, but crow was great.
Oh. That's cool. Sounds similar to my experience in Seattle. Except no new girl, it was Jonah, who was really polite and funny. And whoever did Crow and Servo were on point. I don't think I've ever laughed that hard at MST3K than I did there in that little theater.

>it actually made me think the newest mts3k wouldn't be that bad. i guess it still hasn't come out yet. but obviously joel was the highlight.
That whole thing is fairly complicated what with Rifftrax Cinematic Titanic or whatever that one is called now, but yes, Joel was the highlight. Very talented guy. He did a bit a of magic for us too.

For actual live in-person shows Cinematic Titanic was pretty great. The cast got to do their own monologues between the movies which was pretty funny also. Mary Jo did hers about Crisis on Infinite Earths I think and was probably the best one that night. It's a shame the Pearl character is so cancerous because Mary Jo herself is hilarious.

>he said he was done with 'live' riffing at the show, but i doubt thats completely true. i mean 30 years ago or whatever he said he was done with mts3k, so who knows.

Forgot to touch on that. I sure hope he changes his mind because that was one of those special times that is hard to describe even though it supposed to be simple comedy. I thought it was sublime.

Joel is a great stand-up act for sure because he makes you feel like he's not "performing" for you, if that makes sense.

>he makes you feel like he's not "performing" for you
Yeah I get that, he takes command and gets into a character almost, he's sly that way. I mean, he was not shy about kicking someone ass out if they tried to video tape/record the forbidden movie of copyright, not his exact words, you get me. He was kind of course, but certainly not there to serve us, not exactly.
You'll have to excuse me since I never got into Rocky Horror Picture Show, but I feel there's a shade of that present.

bamp

Great tour. Was awesome to see Joel on stage

Rare double Michaels.

>bridget and mary jo, who are fine
absolutely not
rifftrax is still good if you love shitty movies you wouldn't otherwise see, such as winterbeast
man thats a shitty movie

Are these any good? Or are they pozzed globohomo propaganda trash like all things they bring back for quick nostalgia bucks?

Attached: 1597918893574.png (512x512, 54.75K)

The Netflix series is pozzed abe unfunny. Jonah is a charisma vacuum. No idea how he got the lead part

Because Joel came first people are knee-jerked to say he's better, but he was shit. Mike is superior and had better chemistry with the bots

Mike.
I actually like Pearl's skits and even Brain Guy to an extent, it's just Bobo that's unbearable. Mary Jo's delivery as Pearl is pretty funny imo
same
