Personaly i think the show went to shit a few years ago, but now that Axe is gone, they succeeded in creating a new dynamic and i like the renewal it brings.
Still mad at all the time lost over that shitty Olympics subplot.
Don't worry user I got this office set I never mentioned for you to use
it's like a popular reference crashing through the atmosphere like The Challenger meets Rocky Balboa, casting bones in the arena of Billy The Kid against Buffalo Bill. And when I stride forth in the glorious victory enjoying the spoils of the Fight against the Dragon I will..
oh hold on was I supposed to write about a financial drama?
Kek. Thanks for the bump anyway, user.
This show should have been cancelled around when the she it thing person got her own company
First season is kino, second one is close but after that it took a dive into shitpit and never recovered. After Axe left I couldn't finish the first episode of s6(?)
Succession came out and absolutely mogged it to death.
also this lmao
Prince doesn't come across like a villain but they want you to think he is. Chuck is the real villain but they want you to side with him. I still like the show but that dynamic is weird.
The plot of the season finale came out of nowhere. Same for the subplot of that episode. Also the crypto wallet thing doesn't work that way and he wouldn't have lost any money. The thing with Rian was introduced as a non-issue and yet they kept pushing it just to give the other characters something to do.
They changed it from "hedgefund managers are pieces if shit that break the law" to "nobody should have a billion dollars"
>Mike Prince doesn't even seem that bad, the amount at which Chuck is breaking the law and bending the rules to get to him doesn't equal out or make sense.
>for the first time in the show I am 100% against Chuck
Holy shit, how is this still going? Couldn't make it past S3.
I agree with all of this. Prince's only crime is that he has too much money according to Chuck. Prince gives a lot of his money away and he uses his power and influence to help poor people while Chuck is also rich and uses his power to abuse his then government position to attack people he doesn't like.
>8 characters
>2 of them are black
>25% of the cast is black
>blacks are 10% of USA population
What's up with overepresentation?
there's also new black black guy who just appeared but already almost the co-head of the company
finally Billions thread that wasn't created by me
I think this season is not the worst out one, but it's hard to judge, I just consume it as guilty pleasure, and to get movie recommendations, watched Angel Heart and The Dead Zone last week because of this show
I do not watch shoes with trannies.
why would you watch shoes at all user?
I also watched Angel Heart because of this show.
I just couldn't get behind this season, the only villain is the guy they prop up as the good guy.
>>blacks are 10% of USA population
Why does one company need to have the exact same demographics as the country it is in?
I will post screanshot I did
>finally Billions thread that wasn't created by me
I tried starting a couple at the start of the season but nobody cared ;_;
I'm about to start Angel Heart as well because of this show too.
I guess after the shitty Olympics arc we're gonna get the shittier Presidential run arc, next season.
introducing the bull dyke. i knew in that moment that it was a bad idea because she's going to become a central character and a couple episodes later she was established as basically infallible, brilliant and beating every character in the show at their own game so well that they all sucked her off. it's unbelievable how you can ruin a show as good as Billions with one single character.
>the only villain is the guy they prop up as the good guy.
yeah, and they weren't even beefing in the first part of the season
and in the end they decide to go hard on Mike because he wanted to give out money to regular people, instead Chuck and Dave literally destroyed the money
But she gets BTFO by everyone now. It's gotten to the point that they mostly stay in their office quietly.
I like the actress but they spent half of the finale on her bullshit storyline that amounted to nothing
Yeah not going to suffer through 5 seasons to see her getting bent over a barrel.
Sims 2 Pets reference
cringiest scene this season
Shaggy makes a cameo
>ROXAAAAAAAAANE
Why did Sacker give Chuck the real information about the drives if she knew that his blackmail attempt would fall flat? It's the only reason Prince lost the money. He should be strangling her right now, not buying her drinks.
really getting into that Dead Zone reference
The title reminds me of this T&E skit:
youtu.be
Bro' stop trying to make sense out of this shitty show and just enjoy the ride (and the memes) like the rest of us do.
>What went wrong?
covid
Why? And yes I understand the reference. It just doesn't add anything to the show whatsoever.
oh wow can't believe the gang got Wheels Up™®©℠ membership
funny when the show about absurd wealth needs this kind of product placement to scrape by
pop culture reference that don't add anything is like 15% of this show
and it's doesn't even makes sense, Mike Prince is not a villain, and I bet he's 10x better person than average presidential candidate
> They literally have an episode called "Succession"
kek, they did it for clicks because they know nobody is watching their show
Margin Call reference
A private jet for $9k/hr is balling territory.
I hope Taylor backstabs this guy and leads the company solo
i was looking at the thumbnails in the season to see if axe came back.
he didn't bother to, so i didn't bother watching
my wife
ewwww
Would not.
>chuck throws it all in on one big gamble and gets fucked (again(again(again(again(again))))) - season finale
he finally gets axe only because he wanted to leave the show XD
even there he got screwed by Mike
gay
Can't explain it, but i get a bad vibe from this girl. She might be cute, but shs simply not my type. The way she reacted to her hook up with Prince tells me she would induce headache after headache if i had the possibility to get my way with her. It's a character, i know.
But i wouldn't, that's all.
Anyone else tired that Chuck is still in the game, even after getting btfo'd so many times ? Even when he looses, he always gets back up.
Kinda getting tiring...
I was starting to be ok with it when he and Prince were working together to take down Axe. I thought after that there would be a clean slate and they could start him in a new direction but he just decided one day that he needs a new enemy and decided that his most recent and most powerful ally should become that person. And now the season ends with everyone hating Prince just because when he is definitely the better person out of all of them put together.
What the hell was going on with Wendy's story in the second half of the season? She disappears then she's studying under some Buddhist monk while making pastries then she writes a tell-all book about the company where she shits on everyone when it's her job to motivate all of them.
What's wrong with the show is that it is written in a way where you're supposed to root for Chuck because he is 'the good guy' who is fighting for the people, but hes so insufferable that you really don't care if he gets a win or not, and most of the time you care more about what the edge fund guys are doing instead of whatever convoluted plan Chuck has to bring down the 'bad guy' even though his own father is one of those people.
After the pointless Axe-Wendy ship they tried to stuff into last season, and the one with the painter, and Axe leaving, i think the writers stopped caring about her, since she was (almost) always the love interest for one of the MC.
Since Prince got women by the dozen, it would have seemed batshit insane if the shipped her with Prince.
So they had to invent shit for her to do around the plot, since she was never pushing things forward, plot-wise, and was always a secondary character that the writers proped-up whenever one of the traders artificially needed a boost.
Her role became pointless after Axe left. She doesn't have the back and forth with Prince, shes just some shrink chick who doesn't have much of an impact on anything that happens, especially now that her and Chuck are separated so even that isn't a source of drama/conflict, as a result they have to do bullshit subplots like her writing that memoir that no one gives a fuck about.
this shit always had these embarassing popculture references in its dialogue but now it genuinely borders on parody
>and was always a secondary character that the writers proped-up whenever one of the traders artificially needed a boost.
That's the thing. The entire office needed a morale boost with the change in leadership but they made it so Prince was doing all of that himself and she was quiet in her office seething about him being there before running off to make pastries lol.
She's lost all of her friends and lovers and now they won't give her another story. At least in s3 they had her trading with Taylor.
The ending was also predictable and you knew that whatever scheme Chuck had to thwart Prince wouldn't work and the next season would be about Prince running for president and Chuck trying to stop him somehow.
Chuck is also doing all of this illegally but allowed to operate freely because 'rich man bad'.
Also partly why you can never really get behind Chuck. The only evolution I saw in his character was when he teamed up with Axe when he wanted to get back into office, but then towards the end his character just reset for no reason like a Saturday morning cartoon show
