I understand that this case is so mystifying to neurotypical people but everyone really overthinks it and comes up with the wildest explanations. Just follow the Occams razor. The simplest explanation was that she wasn't medicated and had some psychotic episode where she probably felt paranoid and heard a voice. Soon she found herself traversing this place randomly maybe looking for a refuge, a place to hide from whatever was frightening her, and then she found herself in front of a large pool of water and maybe the voice told her to jump in.
