I wouldn’t recommend trying to walk on your tippy toes. It will give you inches but there’s no way it won’t go unnoticed. Same here. I thought I was 5'11'' for 21 years because every other guy around me lied about their height. As sad as it sounds, I was unironically devastated for a few days after I found out I was actually 5'9.5''
It's funny though, because now I tell people my true height and actual 5'11'' guys who say they are "6'2''" always dispute me and say that I'm actually 5'11'' or 6'.

5'11" here and have no problem telling the truth about it. It's always sad and weird when you catch people lying. The most notable instance was when I was working security and some girls were asking me and my co-workers heights, he is shorter than me and he claimed 6'0 and his expression changed quite dramatically when I "really? I'm 5'11 myself". What am I supposed to do? Lie? Maybe I didn't have to say those exact words but even if I had just answered with "I'm 5'11"" he would have still been exposed since I'm noticeably taller than him. I feel sorta bad but the true fault lies with him for perpetuating a lie.
